I'd love to meet some other mums. I moved here last Oct not knowing anybody and haven't really met many people yet. With four little ones, sometimes it is a battle to get out of the door!

louise26 · 15/02/2006 16:14

I know what you mean (although you have more than me so must be harder) seems to take ages to get my lot ready to go out and then when i come home its to a messy house (beds unmade, washing up etc) as didn't have time to do it before I went out but anyway I love getting out and would be nice to have a regular meet up with all mums in the area as it can get a bit boring when I'm at home most of the day.

OP posts:
Kelly1978 · 15/02/2006 16:16

mm, and stressful - they make such a mess if they are home all day, and then they get bored and demanding too!
Do you know any good places to go around your area?

louise26 · 15/02/2006 16:35

There's a small soft play area in leisure centre called pj's and they do a toddler group there as well, also there are a few soft play centres nearby in Ashford, Shepperton, Egham. Where do you usually take your lo's?

OP posts:
Kelly1978 · 15/02/2006 16:43

We've been to soft play in Slough, called Snakes and Ladders, and one in Bracknell leisure center, can't remember what that is called. They also like the park on the riverside at Windsor, and a nice park in Bracknell with a huge pond. Plus there is the lookout center, and last week we went to Heathrow to watch the airplanes!! There are a couple of mother and toddler groups here in Ascot, but I don't go very regularly to anything. I like exploring new places.

louise26 · 15/02/2006 17:00

We went to bracknell leisure centre last year for ds birthday - he loves it there. I take them swimming at the local pool every week and dd loves feeding the ducks and swans at the river. I've been to snakes and ladders quite a few times but the one in Brentford next to London butterfly house. Let me know when your around so maybe we could meet up and kids can play.

I'm around most days except fridays. What days are you free? And Rach?

louise26 · 15/02/2006 17:55

Of course Rachd too, and all other mummies from Staines and surrounding areas, where are you all??????. Can meet up most days except weekends.

OP posts:
Kelly1978 · 15/02/2006 19:12

oh yeah, I'm busy weekends too, bump for rachd and anyoen else about.

RachD · 16/02/2006 10:37

Hello again, everyone.
I work 2 or 3 days a week, but am not working at the moment.
Ds is 2.
I am very impressed that Kelly manages to get out the door at all - do you even remember to brush your teeth - coz that would be really impressive - a mum of four with brushed teeth ????

I like the sound of going to new places, as we move into spring we could go to Windsor or even Virginia Water Lake.

Kelly1978 · 16/02/2006 10:53

I'm a mum of four - I don't have hardly any teeth left.

I've not been to virginia water yet, but looking forward to when the weather gets warmer and I can explore places like that. There is a childrens funfair at windsor that should reopen once it gets warmer, lookign forward to that too.

I guess it's up to louise to think of something and a date then.

RachD · 16/02/2006 11:47

Oh thats great Kelly, so I will recognise you when we meet up - the gormless no-toothed-lady with the four kids - I won't miss you, then !!

And you will recognise me - I am the bearded lady, who looks like she has four kids, yet she only has one son, who is a little treasure .

I look forward to louise suggesting a place & date.

Kelly1978 · 16/02/2006 12:28

lol, that's spot on!

Kelly1978 · 18/02/2006 19:06

bump again for louise,

My email addy is [email protected], if either of you want to get in touch directly to make arrangements.

emmavl · 23/02/2006 18:33

Hi i live in virginia water and would love to chat to any mummys in the area! I have a ds who is two!

Kelly1978 · 24/02/2006 13:20

Hi emma, You are jsut down the road from me. I still haven't been to virginia water yet, but I have heard it is very nice. Are you a sahm too?

RachD · 24/02/2006 13:39

Hello to Kelly and welcome to Emma - we live very close and both have children aged 2.
Can't wait to meet up.
Which days are good for Louise ?

Kelly1978 · 24/02/2006 16:27

Hi Rach. I've not heard nething from lousie and she hasn't posted since on here neither. Maybe she has pc probs?

Perhaps we could try and arrange a day for a meetup then start a new post to see if anyone else fancies it?

emmavl · 24/02/2006 17:06

Hi every body,
I work three days a week as a nursery nurse but i would love to be a sahm!
Virginia water is nice not much to do in village ( apart from a few swanky resturants!) but the lake is really quite nice

Kelly1978 · 24/02/2006 18:28

so what days are good for you, emma?

emmavl · 24/02/2006 19:51
