Hi, I'm new to mumsnet - just wondered if there's anyone on here from Malvern??? I have a 19month old son - just wondered if there's someone with children of a similar age who'd like to meet up for trips to the park/playcentre etc...

I think there are some Malvern mums on mumsnet, there's also a growing number of us in Worcester.

just in case you were wondering

Lauraa83 · 29/01/2006 22:24

Hi waterfalls!
Thanks for your message! Bet they must keep you very busy?! You are so lucky, I've always said I'd love to have twins but not sure I'd cope! Are your twins boys or girls or one of each?

They are identical girls, 1 is very placid, and the other is a drama queen
I also have always wanted twins ever since I was about 10...........be careful what you wish for eh??

Where abouts in Malvern are you, as in area, not a good idea to give street names on an open forum, lol

I am near the Green by thw way

Lauraa83 · 29/01/2006 23:15

Hello
I am in the Green too! Have you been to having a ball yet? We have been twice so far, apart from our son having a brilliant time me and dp did too diving in the ball pools and scaring myself on slides that were too fast ha ha! It's good to have something in Malvern like this at last - other than that there is only the park, feeding the ducks and the splash I suppose. Bit cold for swimming at the moment though!

Yeah I'm sure they will - there is a section for babies and toddlers and a bigger part for older ones too. Just noticed that your children must have around a 3 year age gap then... what are the good/bad points about that do you think? Just asking because I am hoping to have a 3 or 4 year age gap if I can and just hoping I've made the right decision (bit late now) lol ... I had to have an emergency caesarean after a long labour because apparently I have a small pelvis. It p'd me off a bit really because I'm shoe size 3 and when I was pregnant I asked the midwife about small feet=small pelvis and she said it only applies if you are a size 2 or under but they could have checked for me! If I could have had babies the natural way I might have had a small age gap but this way I get the chance to try and lose a few more pounds before getting pregnant again anyway! I was alright until Christmas when I had gateaux and double cream for breakfast for over a week!!!

Gosh laura, your ds birth sounds horrible, I had an emergncy C section too for twin 2, I gave birth to twin 1 naturally, but my cervix then closed within a couple of minutes (very rare apparently) so twin 2 had to be born by c section.

I dont think I had any problems really with the age gap, but my son is mildly autistic, so maybe I had a different reaction from him to that of a typical child, I did'nt actually plan the pregnancy, it came as a bit of a shock, and more so when I discovered it was twins, lol, would'nt change them for the world though.

So I assume a natural birth is out of the question for your next one then???

Lauraa83 · 31/01/2006 21:48

Yeah I think so, well if they do ask I would rather have caesareans from now on anyway, it's scared me a bit cos it got to the point where me and baby had both sort of had enough. I know c-secs are more risky for me but at least I'll know what to expect I suppose but I'm still a bit scared. Never mind! Do you think you'll have any more? I would like about 3 or 5 or more if I can so best get a move on! Do you go to any mother and baby groups in Malvern? I did go to one in April and May last year, then stopped, but I'll probably start again nearer the summer. I'm going to set up a temporary email address in a minute then I'll put it on here for you and if you email me then through that I'll send you my real one. Probably safer that way! Say if that's ok?
