Brighton half term with kids?

I know we all have kids of very different ages and I don't think custy does meetups with kids but is anyone up for a get-together over half term? Haven't got any further than that thought really - what/where probably depends on numbers and ages but if anyone is interested I'm sure we could work something out.

I would come Ds is 11 but little and silly so I think he qualifies! He is also v good at entertaining little ones and doesn't seem to mind them at all!

VestibularProwess · 29/01/2006 13:47

I'm up for it. How about CJs? It might be a bit mobbed at half term but if we get there early and mark out our territory ...

Spidermama · 29/01/2006 13:48

Sorry. I forgot I was writing as my alter ego.
How about CJ's then? Or Falmer again.

MABS · 29/01/2006 14:04

I'm up for it with ds, but working some of half term and dd has a different half term to the rest of you! deep joy.

sunnydelight · 29/01/2006 14:26

Falmer has a height restriction for the play area spidermama, and to be honest it's hell on earth when it gets busy, so CJ's might be a better option if there are lots of us. There is supposed to be a fab new soft play area opening in Lewes (according to ABC magazine) with three different play areas depending on age - their website is static, but I'll have a drive past in the next day or so to see if it's open.

Sunny - that's defo the place to be going. One of my really good friend's owns the Lewes one! They are hoping to open the week before half term but i'll ask her tomorrow. It sounds like it's gonna be really good, it taken ages for them to get it all sorted tho'. 13th (pref) or 16th are the only dates i could do , rest of you? xx

sunnydelight · 29/01/2006 17:25

I could do the 16th MABS - have already made plans for the 13th I'm afraid.

16th is good for me too. I hope this Lewes place is open. I could do with a change of child friendly venue. CJs is absolutely mobbed these days.

There's also a new cafe in Haywards Heath but I think it's more for mums and babies. Does anyone know it?

sunnydelight · 30/01/2006 15:57

For obvious reasons I hope Lewes is open as well spidermama I've only been to CJ's once. I really objected to the fact that they charged for accompanying adults - like we're spending time in a soft play area out of choice!!! When I asked politely what I was paying £1 for the staff seemed very confused - I asked if there was an option to not accompany my child and of course there wasn't. Eventually I was told that the £1 was for parking. When I pointed out that they advertised free parking they were at a loss. Anyway, let's hope the Lewes one is better.

Saw my mate, the owner today and the Lewes one will be opening 13 Feb. She has warned there could be teething probs but it should all be fine. Age 12 is the age limit.

I'm actually going to a private pre- opening party on 12 Feb so i'll report back , but it sounds great. 16th is in my diary - time? xx

sunnydelight · 01/02/2006 14:20

You'll be able to give us the inside information MABS! I'm easy about time, but would prefer to avoid meeting at lunchtime if possible as DD is being a bit of a sod these days if she doesn't have a sleep. 10/11am or 2/3pm good for me. DS1 is 12 so I presume the upper age limit is inclusive?

sunnydelight · 09/02/2006 14:02

I'm really sorry MABS, having started this thread I now can't do the 16th. I had to change one arrangement and it's had a cascade effect! Spidermama and I are now going to go to Monkey Bizness on the Wednesday (15th) if there is any way you can join us? She may still be up for the 16th as well; I'm afraid I don't know. Will you be at the health club at all over half-term? (though it's probably not your half-term!); maybe we could meet for a coffee there.

Can't do 15th I'm afraid - no worries tho' will catch up another time. Will be at gym but dunno when yet, I have one half term next week and one the following so it's a real pain!!! xx

MABS · 13/02/2006 13:53

went to opening party at Monkey Bizness yesterday. Thought it was great if a bit cool for adults. Served a decent coffee too. Enjoy! x
