Helloooooooo

So far all efforts to arrange a meet up for us Worcs and surrounding areas Mums have died on their arse ! This one will not, even if I have to go on my own ! On previous threads these Mums have shown willing....

Have I mised anyone ? Please add your name to this thread if I have. It'd be worth knowing how old our kids are for the purposes of a suitable location so here goes...

WSM - 1 DD aged 15 months (also 2 DSs but will be in school)

I suspect that I am being extremely optimistic in planning a pre-christmas get together so what about Feb ? That way we should all be over the post christmas madness. I'll try and do some research with regards to locations/activities for the littlies

Oh No, I'll be back at work then, sob! sob! But I'll still come, just let me know which day etc. and I'll book the time off work providing I'm not booked to do any training.

WSM · 20/11/2003 09:40

Oops

WSM · 20/11/2003 09:49

Ohhhh, a newbie , I'll keep my eyes peeled for your announcement on MN. How are you getting on ? Do you know the sex ?

OP posts:
Hayls · 20/11/2003 11:17

I'm OK thanks WSM except sooo tired all the time. Going to stop work before Christmas and can't wait! We've been told it's a girl but we'll wait and see!
Would be nice to meet up- none of my friends have children. Actually, or are married/ in relationships. Hmmm... Still making the most of their 20s I suppose!

WSM · 20/11/2003 11:20

Well then we should definitely meet up !

OP posts:
WSM · 20/11/2003 11:21

P.S. I'm also the first of my peer group to get married and have a baby.

OP posts:
Hayls · 20/11/2003 11:34

Glad to hear I'm not alone then! I wasn't that young when I got married (22)and had been with dh for 3 years then and I'll be 25 in a couple of months so I can't be that unusual surely? Maybe my friends just can't hang onto their men Not for lack of trying!

WSM · 20/11/2003 11:46

, I am young (22 in 4 months) so that's my reason. Most of my friends are in their first year or so out of Uni.

OP posts:
WSM · 20/11/2003 11:54

Although that hardly makes me gymslip mum material does it ?!

OP posts:
Hayls · 20/11/2003 12:40

Of course not! You're as old as you feel, anyway. I quite often feel as though I'm about 30 years older... Although I have had a few wailing moments where I think I'm still too young to be a mum. I really don't think age is important (well not THAT- there must be a lower age, just not sure what)- surely other things have a greater effect on people's abiity to have and bring up babies?
Just think, you've got plenty of years ahead to have loads more...
As have I.... gulp

WSM · 20/11/2003 12:52

I totally agree.

OP posts:
Hayls · 20/11/2003 12:55

Good. I obviously don't talk rubbish ALL the time then. According to dh, that's what I do. And has got worse with pg apparently because I forget what rubbish I've talked about. Hee hee

WSM · 20/11/2003 13:02

I have a terrible memory at the best of times but during pregnancy I was like an old dear with old-timers ! DD is now 15 months old and my brain is slowly coming back to the surface.

I love the fact that you said about us having loads of time for more kids. I already have 3 (1 bio DD and 2 stepsons) so 'loads more' is hardly an option

OP posts:
GeorginaA · 20/11/2003 13:59

I'm trying to find a nice way to say that I never realised you were "only" 21, WSM, without making it sound that I think you've aged prematurely (which I don't think at all btw!)

Not that I really think that much about other people's ages much now, I tend to think of my peers as other mums with young children. Is that odd or do others feel like that now?

Anyway, I think you're far more mature and responsible than I ever was at 21! Mind you, I still don't feel mature and responsible at 29, so that probably doesn't say much...

sigh I'll stop trying to open mouth and insert foot and shut up now...

Hayls · 20/11/2003 14:41

WSM, of course you can have 'loads more'! Just rob a bank and keep going. or just have fun trying. My neighbour has 9 or 10 sisters and brothers. Or is that going too far? My parents seem to think I'll keep on producing offspring.

WSM · 20/11/2003 15:09

ROFL G !!

I think 10 or 11 kids is pushing the envelope a bit if I'm totally honest ! We'd like another one (taking the tally up to 4) but any further additions will be fairly unlikely.

P.S. Sorry about the delayed responses, I had to pop back into the real world and get some hoovering done !

sassy · 27/11/2003 10:35

Hello, and yes, feb sounds good.
REading suggestions here, weds or thurs mornings sound best for everybody. Good for me too!
My DD is aged 14 months and is VERY active!

WSM · 27/11/2003 10:42

Hurrah ! Will carry on with my research then...

OP posts:
GeorginaA · 27/11/2003 11:57

Thursday morning would be my preference as I won't have to rush off to take ds to nursery (12.30 on Wednesday) - but I'm happy enough with Wednesday if others can't make a Thursday

(sorry, just being awkward, lol)

Hayls · 12/12/2003 19:08
