You are sooo not the worst mother in the work because I am. She sounds hardcore. We like.

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/04/2011 11:59

No, I am, I have got a badge and everything.

She is a toughie. We went skiing when she was 9, she fell down and had to be stretchered off the mountain with a dislocated shoulder, she had it put back and she wanted to go back out on the slopes the next day. The bloody nutter.

I thought her injury would be a good excuse to sit in cafes drinking gluhwein jagermeister hot chocolate.

I am so glad she is better now, just hope she doesn't get MRSA (I had an op in february and got MRSA in my stitches, still not healed properly now)

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/04/2011 12:00

God I sound like an old washer woman in the queue at the supermarket, banging on about my ailments Grin

Valpollicella · 11/04/2011 12:16

GetOrf were those the same stiches you burst, trying to lift DD up? you doughnut

Grin
OP posts:
GetOrfMoiLand · 11/04/2011 12:23

Yep. I have told DD she is to try and lift me up now, to see what it feels like.

She just looked at me wall eyed, and said 'do you think I am that stupid?'

Point taken Grin

Dropdeadfred · 11/04/2011 12:26

I would have liked to come along to this but I have an exam next day... Wouldn't be wise would it?!

Valpollicella · 11/04/2011 12:29

methodsandmaterials · 11/04/2011 12:29

Well there is something to be said for relaxing the night before an exam...

Dropdeadfred · 11/04/2011 12:34

Val - I know you I know you like Chinese food but not in the sane quantities as me!!!

Dropdeadfred · 11/04/2011 12:35

When do you need an answer by?

Valpollicella · 11/04/2011 12:38
Grin

No huge rush, we'll just need to confirm numbers a couple of weeks before hand

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 11/04/2011 12:45

How many people are coming so far?

thefirstMrsDeVere · 11/04/2011 12:48

getorf poor DD Sad
Glad she is ok.

Tell her she CANNOT play football. I go on visits with the community nurses so am highly qualified to tell her she is not allowed.

I went to see a little girl who was delightfully grumpy after her apedectomy because she was still only doing half days at school.

I love going out with the nurses because the kids scowl at them and love me because I bring bubbles Grin

Anyway back to the point. I am going up town on Weds so may well find something fabulous cheap

Valpollicella · 11/04/2011 12:48

I think we're up to about 30?

Methods can confirm as she has the most up to date confirmations

Don't be Sad Sal, there will be other tasty goodness

OP posts:
notinmypocket · 11/04/2011 16:47

As I'm not allowed going out much these days, I have been thinking about this festivity to an almost unhealthy degree.

I am not concerned about outfit or canapés but more about the drinks.

Are there any beer drinkers, or will a good old pint be frowned upon?
If a pint is too offensive, I could go for a more trendy and acceptable beer bottle? Grin

Dropdeadfred · 11/04/2011 16:49

Notinmypocket. - I wouldn't care what you drink!! Pint or bottle is fine by me
