I am in Calne but wouldn't mind a trip to Salisbury! Smile I have 3 children 8, 5 & 2.

Malvapoeding · 18/04/2011 09:16

I'm in Devizes and have 2 children 2.5 and almost 1.

LauraNorder · 18/04/2011 09:18

OOh Malva I go to Devizes quite a lot. Found the new children's clothes shop the other day. Smile

Skifit · 18/04/2011 09:21

LauraNorder ...Do you fancy a trip during this Easter Hols? Meet for coffee? At least your 8 yr old and my 10 yr could mingle and play.
The mums at my sons school are not that friendly so its hard to arrange school hol meet ups for son. DS is very popular and in his 3rd year at the school, but it just seems these other mums have so many busy schedules etc when school is out.. (?)

The one by Somerfield? I did too, I am now considerably poorer!

LauraNorder · 18/04/2011 09:24

Aw we're on holiday from tomorrow so I can't this week.

LauraNorder · 18/04/2011 09:26

No there's another one (haven't found the one by Somerfields). Yoyo Kids on Snuff Street.

Malvapoeding · 18/04/2011 09:28

AAh yes, we know Yoyo too well, Lucy who owns it is lovely and runs music classes locally for toddlers. The one opposite Somerfield is v v v v expensive.

Zoonose · 18/04/2011 09:47

Another calne dweller here, have DS 3 and DD 1. Haven't been to devizes other than to coral cove (!) but could do a meet up soon. If nice weather garden centre at lacock have good play area also.

womanwholivedinashoe · 15/05/2011 19:41

Hi Ladies, sorry to gate crash your thread but i'm looking at houses in Devizes on Tuesday and may well be moving into the area by summer if things go to plan. Also an older mum, 21, 20, 14, 8, 6 months and expecting hmmmm lol!
On my hi jack of your thread just wandered what Devizes is like or nice areas to bring up kids in Wiltshire in general. Heard some good things and desperate to get out of London???
Ps sorry once again for hi jack!

jellyvodkas · 16/05/2011 18:58

Anywhere out of London is nice IMHO....Salisbury is a lovely old quaint cathedral city and Devizes a small market town with a lot of history. Plus the villages between the two are really nice. Depends if you want a town or a village. Nice time to move in the summer....you can let the kids out and get on with sorting out house etc.

You are a miracle mum with so many children and with such a vast age range.. and EXPECTING....Wow !!

jellyvodkas · 16/05/2011 18:58

P.S... You are not gate crashing at all.... xx

womanwholivedinashoe · 16/05/2011 20:22

Thanks jelly and not really a miracle mum just more of a mad mum who gets way too broody although must admit to the new one a little surprise (if you ever see a woman walking around with grey hair and pulling at her hair that'll be me lol). House that we were due to see has had an offer put on it so we're back to looking but thanks for the info. Prefer a mix of village and small town really, but saying that I have 3 different shopping parades within walking distance now and a huge shopping centre just 2 miles away so not sure how i'd manage if I always had to get in the car (although I am particularly lazy lol) and we'd never get to meet anyone so I guess nowhere too rural. Just had a friend move to Salisbury last summer and her and her son absolutely love it. xx
