I've recently moved near Peterlee and am getting to know the area. Dp has had a house here for a few years but we decided to try to settle in one place. I got dss into nice schools and they've settled really well. The people round here are mostly friendly and I'm beginning to get involved with the community. Art class starts this afternoon which should be good. Hopefully I'll start work or get back to what I do best... hairdressing??

Anyway just wondered if there are any mumsnetters around who have older dcs? Mine are 10 and 12. It'd be nice to chat and maybe have a meet up?

I've found there's plenty to keep dcs entertained...when I can drag ds1 off the xbox Wink Hartlepool quay is great and we got the annual pass although ds1 is getting a bit big for the wooden play ship Grin. Also the Oriental museum in durham is amazing value! £3.50 for a family ticket and we stayed for hours.
I'm looking forward to taking the boys to the botanic gardens when we get a dry day. Dp and me have been, it's beautiful.

There's a few of us around Durham, but the ones that come on the meet ups have little ones or none (like me - resident nanny Wink)

But you'd be welcomed all the same!!
