Hello everyone,
I'm Luc Olinga, an independent journalist based in New York. For several months I've been investigating The Real World, the paid online platform run by Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, which began as Hustlers University. My reporting is supported by a fellowship at the City University of New York's Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism.
I would like to speak with parents, guardians or other relatives of young people who joined the platform while they were under 18. I know from my reporting so far that many did, in the UK and elsewhere.
I'm interested in what you saw from your side. How did your son or daughter find it? Who paid for the subscription, and did you know about it at the time? What changed at home, if anything? And where do things stand now? Some families noticed little. Others went through a great deal. Both experiences matter to me.
I start with questions, not conclusions, and a conversation would take about 30 to 45 minutes by phone or Zoom/Google Meet, at a time that suits you.
If you're willing to talk, or simply want to know more first, please email me at [email protected]. You're also welcome to message me here.
Thank you for reading.
Luc
