Has anyone done a open university degree and then gone on to do pgce? I’m starting a degree with them in October with the aim of becoming a secondary school teacher. I was just wondering if anyone else had done this

How long will your degree take, @user1481374748?

I did this 10+ ish years ago. Taught in schools and colleges since then - now in HE. You have to be organised (I had 2 young children at the time) and supported by family, my DH was really good. But it is really fulfilling. What subject are you doing ?

Yes a friend of mine did. We both did OU degrees and then met doing an MA Education. She had been teaching for a few years and is an assistant head at a large trust secondary. We are both doing PhDs now.

Awesome 🙌 Im going into year 3 of 6. There are so many people on the FB forums that have gone on to teaching afterwards.
