Career change to schools marketiing

After a 25+ year career in marketing and advertising, I took redundancy last year and nursed my daughter through a serious operation.

With that all behind us now, I'm looking to start work again but don't want to (and, at 54, will be deemed too old to) go back into advertising.

Does anyone work in schools or university marketing or similar? Am I too old to make the step change?

State schools don't have specific marketing people. Usually one of the leadership team takes it on, in addition to their teaching and other responsibilities.

Can't speak for private schools but I'd be surprised if they had enough work for a full-time person,

Lots of people are employed in marketing roles in HEIs (higher education institutions). Get an idea at jobs.ac.uk
There’s also an Academic Common Room on here for people employed at universities - mostly academics themselves but sone professional services too
