Best online provider for Access to HE courses for going onto an English degree?

Has anyone done an Access to HE course online and then gone on to do a degree in English Literature at university afterwards? If so, which online providers for distance learning would you recommend?

Have you looked at the OU? You wouldn’t have to do an Access course first.

I did my English lit degree through the open uni with no need for an access course and really enjoyed it.

Went on to a post-grad in a physical uni and due to Covid it ended up being pretty much the same experience as the online one anyway!

It's to apply for a BA in English at Bristol, UEA, KCL and Cambridge after doing the Access to HE though.

I'm two weeks into the HE course via Activate Learning, have been very impressed so far. It's a year long course and all online.

Activate Learning does not seem to have any Access to HE online courses that include any English Literature modules unfortunately.

Have you had a look at the advanced learner loan gov.uk website. Not sure if the loan itself is any relevance to you but from memory they had a list of approved learners that might be helpful

I am studying with Distance Learning Centre and I have been very pleased. I am not doing an Access to English, but I have weekly phone tutorials with my tutor and all the support I ever need. The price was competitive compared to other providers and I pay monthly and I am not locked in to a credit agreement.

Should add I am about halfway through. I looked at some of the posts on The Student Room.

Is Learn Direct a good provider?
