Kind of regret retraining or am I just fed up with colleagues?

I retrained as a radiographer (used to teach) and qualified with a 1st aged 43.
Whilst I am great academically, I really struggled on placement with bullying/ anxiety etc. I am currently being assessed for asd.
I flunked my 1st 2 jobs in the private sector and have been in my current job in the nhs over a year. I mostly love it but the pay is shit and there are a few bossy colleagues I struggle with. Please note my bossy colleague thread!
I regret not doing something more lucrative where I can work from home.
I want to get a promotion but my boss says I lack confidence.

Other times I love my job.

What else can you do with all of the qualifications that you have ? No need to stay in your current career just because you qualified in it.

It's only been a year and you'd had really confidence-destroying experiences before taking up this role. It takes time to rebuild yourself after that.

Give it another year of focusing on the positives, looking after yourself, developing the skills and experiences you'd need for future roles - then reassess.

Every job has its downsides and nobody loves their job 100% of the time. Don't let "grass is greener" thinking distract you from the parts of your job you love.
