Low carb bread?

I had a look in the supermarket earlier and quickly noticed a slice of low carb bread is a third of the carbs of a normal slice because it's a third of the size. Is there any that is actually low carb for a decent portion?

I'm perfectly happy without potatoes, rice, and pasta but I bloody love a sandwich.

Low carb bread sounds like an oxymoron to me. 🤔🤷

Are you in the UK?

I’ve ordered low carb bread online before and without exception, I thought it was revolting. Including Heylo, which is apparently the best. I think it’s the texture - it’s really odd and chewy.

I keep the wholemeal crustless bread in the freezer - might be Kingsmill? It’s about 7g carbs per slice so I can just about squeeze one or two slices into my daily allowance. Crusts seem to be higher carb but not sure if that’s because they’re heavier?

But obviously, the slices for the crust-less loaf are much smaller.

If you crave proper bread, some scotch rolls are only about 25g. You have to search around though - some that look identical are 42g! Asda do some rolls that are around the 27g mark I think.

Doable if you’re strict elsewhere and on low carb rather than keto.

I bloody love bread so I share your pain!
