I've got the book from. Amazon (£6 atm)

Will do a shop Monday morning.

Am planning on OMAD, 800cal. Keto.

With lots of water and am giving up Pepsi max (which will be extremely hard as I'm addicted)

Also I'm going to try to just weigh myself once a week as I get in my head about it and do it daily which puts me in a bad place.

Starting tomorrow. Giving up fizzy drinks too.

Drinking lemon water and sugar free squash.

And high protein 800cal dinner. OMAD.

The thing is that if you do keto, you don't need to do one meal a day or 800 cal. You don't have to measure the calories with keto because more fat is needed. What sort of meals were you thinking of having?

I'm not doing full keto though. I'm doing Keto800. And that's what's advised.

I struggle to do full keto as the amount of fat needed makes me vomit

I've got the book and the meals are absolutely delicious. I'm not dieting at the moment due to reasons, but we're still eating the recipes from the book, they're so nice.

Tallisker · 26/05/2024 22:04

Although I do think two meals a day with time limited eating is far, far easier than just one. So something at noon and something at 6 or 7pm

Thankyou, I'll see how I get on, maybeuo 2 will be better for me.

Good luck! I'd join you but it's not the right time for me.

LittleSF · 27/05/2024 16:26

I started Fast800 Keto last Monday (if that's the one you're doing) and I've lost 7lbs in that week. I have the app but dip into the books for the receipes i've been really strict but I did go out for lunch yesterday (had a cobb salad minus the bacon and had dressing on the side) and had a few glasses of wine but am still in ketosis (I use the keto sticks).
I have three meals a day - breakfast around 10am, lunch at 1pm, dinner around 5pm. Have found the evening fasting not too bad (and I'm a big snacker!), drinking lots and lots of water.
Best of luck!

Wow that's amazing.

Are you doing recipes from the book? I think I'm going to struggle with that level of organisation 😂

Have had a mushroom and cheese omelette and just drank water so far today.

Right now I'm mainly sticking to the app recipes which are similar to the book ones. I'm trying to do it exactly to get good results as quickly as possible. And they are really lovely (apart from the cauliflower base pizza, not great). I even had soup (broccoli & cheddar, amazing) for dinner when it was sunny, just to try to stick to it exactly.

There's a Fast 800 Keto Recipe book too, but the recipes in the main book you have a pretty good.

It is hard at first but the results really are motivating. I'm hoping to lose another 15lb by my holiday in mid-July.

KetoKitty · 27/05/2024 17:56

Is the app worth it? I'm guessing it isn't free?

I have 2 stone to lose.

OP posts:
LittleSF · 27/05/2024 18:03

It's not cheap - there's a 7 day free trial but it's approx £100 for 12 weeks after that. Then a tenner a month.

See how you get on with the book first though - I don't think the app is essential

KrazyboutKillian · 27/05/2024 19:12

I did it in feb
lost 6lb the first week and another 4 after
got into the dress I wanted for a big occasion and felt great

I’m thinking of doing 2 weeks of fast800 from Thursday. I just need a boost, I’m really close to target and I’m not getting past this annoying plateau. It’s not exactly the same as keto 800 but I’ll still join you if I can?

I don't even know what the difference is in all honesty!

Im kind of winging it.

What's your plan? To follow the book recipes to the letter?

@KetoKitty , I did the blood sugar diet a few years back and I got into a good routine of Greek yoghurt and berries, lunches were basically salad and either chicken breast or mackerel in brine, a tbsp of really nice dressing. Dinner was meat + veg. It’s very dull but I only plan to do it for 2-3 weeks then I’ll go 5:2.

I lost a lot back then. I actually only have 7-8lbs to lose really so I hope in 2 or 3 weeks I can make a good dent in that!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/05/2024 21:03

@KetoKitty also at weekends I’d have 2 meals and have a brunch and dinner.

KetoKitty · 29/05/2024 11:21

Did a keto stick and it's positive.

Mouth tastes like a bin too 😂

Feeling very hungry today.

Had 2 glasses of water and 100g of Greek yog with nuts.

Looking forwards to lunch

Where do you get keto sticks from? And is it worth doing the 12-week online programme? Does it tell you exactly what to eat at each meal each day?

Amazon.

I've not done it as I know it's a waste of money as I wouldn't be arsed to make super fancy meals every day and I think it's quite expensive too.

I'm just sticking to keto ingredients.

I got back from Edinburgh today, I feel really bloated from 4 days of meals out and wine! I will weigh in tomorrow for my starting weight and then I’m doing 2 weeks of fast800. I may extend up to 1000 on days I run if I feel I need it, but i plan to keep the carbs pretty low. I never use keto sticks, previously I would just keep the carbs down.

my menu for tomorrow-
Greek yogurt and raspberries
salad and tinned mackerel, tbsp mayo
chicken breast and broccoli
protein shake, spinach and berries

that comes in at 802 cals and 22g carbs. I know I’m going to feel dreadful the first few days as I have had a lot of rubbish recently. I am really looking forward to a detox!

LittleSF · 29/05/2024 23:07

Just prepped yogurt & nuts & seeds for lunch tomorrow (I'm not a huge fan of yogurt but Tesco's Finest Greek Yogurt is lovely) and a Mediterranean salad with hard boiled eggs for lunch. Not sure what dinner is yet but thinking salmon.

How is everyone getting on fasting? I started last week struggling with 14 hours but now 16 hours are pretty easy.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 30/05/2024 06:54

I weighed in this morning at 155.2lbs - 11 st 1
I was 10.9.5 at my last weigh in - so quite a hefty gain for a few days away although clearly it must be some water retention and alcohol bloat! So I’m definitely starting today. I have had a pint of water and a black coffee, I plan to fast til lunch time today just to get me started. I’m going to weigh daily this week but then after that, I will go back to weekly or so, it’s not good for me to weigh every day.

I’m going for a short run this morning, I haven’t been since Friday so it won’t be nice, plus I want to catch up on my workouts and finish Caroline Girvan. We have loads of house jobs and gardening to do so will keep really busy. I’m off work til monday.

KetoKitty · 02/06/2024 09:20

How everyone doing?

Been a tough week but stuck it out. Had a few wobbly moments.

But I feel a bit better the last few days.

Weigh in tomorrow.
