I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts lately about food (fasting, different types of carbs, fat etc) and find it fascinating.

I’ve started not eating my breakfast within half hour of when I get up and leaving it until a bit later (about 15/16 hour fast). I always thought it was unhealthy to miss breakfast but obviously learnt now that it’s not.

I’ve also been avoiding carbs for breakfast and lunch (I usually eat bread every lunch!) so having Greek yoghurt for breakfast and this week grilled chicken thighs and stir fry veg, smoked salmon salad, Caesar salad for lunch so far. Then a normal dinner. Really enjoying it and already started losing a little weight. Anyone else found any benefits of fasting/low carbs?

Lower carb for me yes, helps my cravings for food, helps control my appetite, I try to limit my carbs to dairy, fruit and veg and pulses/legumes.

Fasting no, I need to eat small meals very regularly, even a milky drink now and then to make sure Im not too long without something in my stomach

However, I am going to eat chocolate tonight, so that isnt low carb!!!

Ive been listening to podcasts about this too and have taken up iff. Honestly been a game changer, everything now makes sense to me now. The DOAC, Jason fung episode had been (no exaggeration) life changing. Weights dropping off and im not hungry, which having done a million diets in the past is almost unbelievable. I did ozempic ( before the shortage put a stop to it,) and this is better than that, same lack of hunger, same lack of food based thoughts, but free! Madness.

Yes, I listened to that episode the other day! How long are you fasting?

It depends on how busy I am but between 15-18 hour fasts. Longest I’ve done so far is 20 hours but I think building up to it helps.
