Anyone low carb with gastritis/stomach ulcer?

I need to lose weight and sort out my diet as I'm having terrible blood sugar swings and I'm overweight and peri with a massive stomach.

I also have gastritis and pressure ulcer, so eating lots of meat is off and I just need white bland carbs.

I'm already on the highest dose of famotidine, can't take any of the prazoles, but interested if anyone else managed to combine both and if so what do you eat?

I can't eat eggs, brassicas, coffee and normally get by during a flare on salmon, sticky rice and courgettes

Not quite the same, I know, but I have oesophagitis. Endoscopy a few years ago showed inflamed cracks just above the sphincter.

Eating low carb helps enormously. When I eat high carb I find I need to go back onto omeprazole. I also get hideously bloated.

After a few weeks without eating carbs, you may well find that you can tolerate foods you could not previously eat. I certainly do,

I have a spoonful of milled flax seeds (usually buy some mixture which is tastier than just neat flax) every day. It keeps me regular - constipation is a risk when your body is switching over into low carb mode. But I also have less bloating and discomfort when I take it regularly, even when I'm not low carbing.

I tend to eat fish more than meat. Salmon is an excellent choice. And sliced courgettes cooked gently in butter...mmmm delish 😋

I have pill induced esophagitis and reflux. I found DGL liquorice really helpful in soothing my gut. I take 1 tablet 20 minutes before meals.

I generally try to stick to alkaline foods, lots of green veg and protein (mainly fish and chicken) I limit carbs but have calliflower and wild rice and a small amount of sourdough sprouted grain bread. I am trying to build my gut bacteria so try to go for food high in fibre, I can't deal with the acidity of fermented food at the moment.
