Been doing low carb (most days full on keto) for a few months.

Have had creaky knees which hurt walking up and down stairs for a few years but they’ve got worse recently. I’ve also got elbow pain which has got much worse - hurts to change gear when driving and even pulling up my tights was painful today! It’s in both arms. I’m only early fifties!!

I’m on HRT and I take D3, omega 3, magnesium, curcumin and glucosamine supplements.

After all the YouTube videos I’ve watched claiming carbs are the root of all evil, I’m starting to wonder if this is doing me any good at all!!

Anyone else experienced anything similar? Any suggestions as to what would help?

Maybe your HRT needs a tweak?

I think it more about what you eat than what you don't eat. What did you replace your carbs with?
Nuts, seeds, avocado, and similar anti-inflammatory foods, great.
Sausages, meat, bacon, eggs, cheese, and similar inflammatory food, not so great .
Look at anti-inflammatory diets online. It is not worth being in pain, when other plans can work too.

Are you eating plenty of fat?

And, possibly, if you're doing full-on keto - i.e. less than 20g carbs per day - then perhaps you need to be just low carb. In other words, you increase the amount of carbs you're eating.

All the connective ligaments and stuff are made of fat. You said low carb, are you getting enough fat?
