Ideas for meals help!

I desperately need to lose weight. Middle aged, creaky, have a sneaking suspicion that diabetes might be looming due to years of poor choices. Etc etc…
I want to reduce carbs but…
my cholesterol is high, I’m vegetarian and I’m also fussy (sensory issues). I can’t eat, say, eggs with no carbs as I will gag and feel sick. I can eat yogurt with a bit of granola but not alone - you get the picture. I can’t take nuts to work so lunch has to be nut free as well.

If anyone has nice ideas to throw at me it would be helpful. Also - how low is low for carbs? I saw someone say 130g a day? Is that ok?

I wouldn't say 130g is low carb, tbh. Certainly not for weight loss. If you think about Atkins, the first two weeks you're only allowed 20g carbs a day!

However, one of the difficult things about low carbing is that everyone has a different level of tolerance - some people have to go much lower than others to be able to lose weight, so it's a matter of trial and error, I think.

Why not go and look at the Low Carb Bootcamp topic, and have a look at the vegetarian recipe thread? There are loads of tasty recipes there that might inspire you.

Does your body like salads without carbs? There are loads of really good low carb ones so those could be a solution for lunches maybe?

For dinners I love roast veg with feta; aubergine parmigiana; veggie chilli with yoghurt (google for a low carb recipe without too many beans); curry (by itself- no rice or bread); grilled huloumi with green veg.

Any help?
