Weight loss in first two weeks of keto

I know everyone is different but I wonder how this compares:
Day 2 -2.4lbs
Day 3 +0.2 (in ketosis from here on)
Day 4 -1.6
Day 5 -0.4
Day 6 -0.8
Day 7 +1
Day 8 -0.2
Day 9 -0.4
Day 10 +0.2

I have weighed everything, tracked everything, used the Carb Monitor app and my weight has essentially stayed the same in that time. I know it will go but I have two stone to lose so I wish it would shift a bit!

How many calories are you eating? Keto is just one of many ways to somehow be in calorie deficit.
If you eat too much, you won't lose weight.
Restricting a macro be it fat or carb, restricting the calories, the time in which you eat, .... at the end of the day, it comes down to the calories in .

Not all changes on the scales is fat. Variation on the scale, especially in the first days/weeks of low carb is water also.
What do you eat in a typical day?

I'm using the Carb Monitor app and tracking everything - every day I am pretty close to my goals in terms of net carbs and calories and never over. However, this morning I was down 1.4lbs! I am vegetarian and eat loads of salads, veg, avocado, tofu, occasional cheese, carefully measured nuts, plain soy yogurt and no sugar soy milk in vegan protein shakes.

As of today, it's a total of 5.6lbs but I'm prepared for tomorrow to bounce up again. At least the overall trend is down.

5.6lbs in two weeks is great. Keep going. Weight fluctuations are normal. If the trend goes in the right direction, all is good.

Thank you @LiliesAndChocolate I appreciate your support. I have found my appetite has diminished over this week - at the beginning, I was having a protein shake on my commute, having yogurt or chia pudding as a snack and taking a lunch too. Today I ate for the first time at 2.15pm!

Well done! I'm on day 1 today.

I'm back on a serious keto plan having previously lost 2 stone but def carrying 3/4 stone too much currently!
Do you use keto sticks to find out if you're in ketosis? I bought some off Amazon but think they were pretty useless!

losingit31 · 25/08/2022 14:48

@OhCobblers sometimes I do...if I know I haven't exceeded the carb limit (and I weigh/measure everything right now, even my mushrooms and cucumber!) I don't always bother. I don't notice it so much now but there was about 4 days when I could smell them in my pee so didn't need to test it!

DH has been away the whole time and I have been able to please myself, which has made it easier. The weekend after next we have 3 nights in a hotel so realistically I will end up taking a break then, and will probably do a 20+ hour fast on the Monday and get back on the programme asap! At least I won't feel like such a heffalump in my swimwear.
