Tonight we're gonna diet like it's 2009 - Dukan!

Several years ago I lost nearly 2 stone on Dukan. I was naughty though and didn't carry on with the Consolidation and Stabilisation phases, and definitely not eaten well over the past year, so gradually I've put back on again.

So I've resolved to start over, and do it properly this time! I've started this thread mainly for myself, I realise most people prefer Keto these days and Dukan is very 10 years ago! But if anyone fancies joining they'd be v welcome.

I'm starting with 3 days Attack on Monday.

I’m in. Day 1 tomoz

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 17/01/2022 19:53

Woohoo!
Also you asked about noodles - he mentions in the book - you can have konjac which is an indigestible root vegetable (yummy....) that can be milled like flour and made similar to wheat products eg noodles, rice etc. You can get konjac noodles in Japanese foodstores or I've found also Holland & Barrett do a range too (SlimPasta, SlimRice). If you do get them, my strong advice is heavily rinse first, then boil, then dry fry to get the rest of the water off (the water they come in is grim).
This way they don't taste of much but your brain thinks you're eating carbs Smile

That's brilliant you lost on your first week! I'm day 2 and feeling a bit hungry..nearlllly made eggs on toast but resisted. I need that ice cream ASAP so will grab some tomorrow. I also need to get the noodles. I am really missing chocolate but just had a caramel and chocolate bits muller light and feel better. I'm just going to look into your bread recipe and maybe make eggs on toast tonight. But I have left over horrible mince with bits of gherkin and onion which I should eat but I can't face it! I remember finding sugar free/far free jello chocolate pudding once and that was a good one but I haven't found it since. My sister in law used to use this aldi cheese with holes in too and apparently that was good. I miss cheese 😂

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 18/01/2022 21:57

How did you get on today Iamnever? I find day 2 of Attack is always the hardest!
If you want cheese this one is pretty good <a class="break-all" href="https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/292470900?preservedReferrer=www.google.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/292470900?preservedReferrer=www.google.com/
I mean, it's no cheddar. But it does the trick and actually tastes OK.
I've had quite a good day but looking ahead at the weekend it's surprisingly sociable so is likely to be tricky to navigate...!

How is everyone doing?
I had a crash and fall off the wagon this weekend! Social occasions Friday night & Saturday involving both wine and bread but it was bloody lovely
Paying for it this morning as have gained 2lbs 🙈 So back on it this week and vowing to be more disciplined next time an opportunity presents itself!

Hoping most of the 2lb is water from the carbs and a few days of PP will set me right...

Hope everyone else had a better weekend than me!

Checking in after a slightly better (but definitely not perfect!) weekend...

I've realised my activity levels are through the floor at the moment and I'm definitely not achieving Dr D's 20mins a day so I'm hoping improving that this week will speed up the loss.

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 07/02/2022 09:48

Better week this week, the difference has definitely been ramping up the exercise.

Losing on average 1.5lbs a week at the moment which is as expected for Dukan Cruise, so I'm pretty pleased with that especially given the odd bit of cheating

Hopefully means I'll be seeing 10st on the scale by the end of the month...

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 14/02/2022 12:20

Have had a very non compliant week with work dinners and Valentine's so am frankly amazed I've not put on! Again I think it's a decent exercise level saving me.
Very little planned socially this week so aiming for a fully Dukan week this week.

Week started out very well and I was hoping to see 11st 0.something at one point! However my weekends are definitely not Dukan compliant at the moment so I ticked up a bit since Friday. Still - getting there. Hoping I can ramp up the exercise this week - 10 stone, I'm coming for you!!

Still plodding along around 1lb a week at the moment. I have to be honest & say I am more doing the "spirit of Dukan" with around 80% rule-following rather than strict Dukan but at the moment quite happy with a slow and steady loss, feels a bit more sustainable allowing the odd cheat meal out. If it starts to plateau I might have to rethink!

Just wanted to say well done and keep going!

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 02/03/2022 10:13

Ah thank you Grin
Got below 11st today, let's hope I can keep it there by my official MN weight in next week! This thread is giving me something to aim for each time, really helping Smile

Hi, I've also started dieting like it's 2009! I'm on day 3 of 6 on attack. Have a massive headache today that won't shift but going to push through. I've read through the thread and you sound like you're getting along with it so well. I'm 4lbs down so far, but considering the number of times I've had to wee that's not surprising 😂

NYEdoctor · 02/03/2022 23:16

I’ve started too - day 3 today. Had a headache this evening but find a small amount of skimmed milk gets rid of it. Lost 4 lbs so far - prob all water but is a good incentive !

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 03/03/2022 08:02

Ah welcome everyone and well done!
I find drinking loads of water helps for headaches especially during Attack. Hurrah nice to have some fellow Dukaners Grin

Day 4 of attack and I'm so much looking forward to having some veg on Sunday. Thinking of doing a chicken and veg curry with some cauli rice. Today, however, I've had steak, poached egg and a bacon medallion followed by fat free Greek yogurt. I've just had 2 Aldi skinny sausages, another poached egg and some fat free cottage cheese. I'm going to have some oatbran porridge in a bit to round the day off. Headache has cleared today and I've drank lots of water (and tea) to try to avoid another one. Hope everyones day has gone well

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 09/03/2022 08:44

How is everyone getting on? I didn't have a very good weekend but to be honest happy to maintain! Come on 11 stone, I'm coming for you....

Well done for maintaining after a tricky weekend! I also had a bad weekend, though it was planned for a few weeks so probably should've waited til this week to start dukan. So I'm doing a few extra days of attack. Discovered bresaola today, think it's my new favourite. Have got a day at uni tomorrow and one of the girls has made a carrot cake for us! Going to have to pretend that carrot cake is not my favourite ever cake 😂

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 15/03/2022 07:49

Hope everyone is still getting on

Hope everyone is still getting on OK!
I'm really happy as finally broke 11 stone on my "official MN weigh-in day" lol.

However - I'm now off on holiday for 2 weeks this weekend, and food will be one of the highlights 🙈🙈🙈
My aim is to have a balanced approach, enjoy myself but without going "sod it" and going crazy - and then do a few days Attack when I get back. So I won't be weighing in for a couple of weeks now, hopefully it's not a huge step backwards when I do...!

Can I join late to the party.

I'm on day 2 of Dukan attack and I'm already craving some crispiness and texture in my life. Will stick to the attack phase until Saturday (6 days).

3lbs down on day 2 which I'm fully aware is water weight but still it's enough to keep me a bit more motivated. My downfall is cheddar cheese, pasta and wine.

I have an event that I need to fit into a nice dress for in April and I'm sick of being blobby and bloated all the time.

Current stats -

Start weight - 11st 6lbs (heaviest I've ever been)

Current weight - 11st 3lbs

Interim target - 10st

Long term target - 9st 7lbs

I'm loosely trying to follow intermittent fasting with it, which with work coincidentally is happening anyway because I'm so bloody busy - but aiming for 12-8 as my eating window.

Today so far has been -

Fat free cottage cheese
Fillet of Hake with a dash of lemon baked in the oven
May nibble on some ham in a sec

Dinner later I'm not sure - thinking maybe giving some tofu a crack if I can stick some soy sauce on it?? If not, then some form of chicken.

Looking forward to stealing all of your recipe ideas!

zobalina77 · 15/03/2022 14:49

I am so hungry today I could just fall into all the food. I'm not going to go off plan, after all I was strong this weekend when I refused to have a takeaway with my husband and son, but I am struggling.Ate my oatbran porridge this morning and don't usually have that til about 7, but I needed it. I'm even considering having a slice of dukan bread (hate it, but husband likes it so I make it for him) just to eat something a little heavier.

So far today on protein day:
Breakfast - oatbran porridge
Lunch - 2 turkey breasts, 2 poached eggs and a chicken breast as still hungry. Sugar free jelly for dessert.
Loads of water and cups of tea.

I have started a period yesterday so don't know if that's why I'm so hungry. I don't have them usually, but last time I started losing weight it triggered one too. I do feel less bloated though and am starting a new placement tomorrow (am a student nurse) so am hoping my uniform is a tad looser now.

zippityzip · 15/03/2022 15:02

@zobalina77 How are you cooking your Turkey/chicken breast?

If I can SEE that it's chicken it really puts me off sometimes so need ways to make it more interesting.

I know how you feel though. I'm day dreaming of dry roasted peanuts and a ploughman's lunch 😩

I'm trying tofu tonight.

zobalina77 · 15/03/2022 15:25

@zippityzip I airfry just about everything. Bought it 2 weeks ago and have barely used the oven since. Sometimes I stuff chicken with quark or philly extra light and wrap it in bacon medallions. That's really nice. Today though I just ate a precooked supermarket one I have in for emergencies. Hasn't done the job though, still starving!

zippityzip · 15/03/2022 17:17

@zobalina77 ohhh I didn't know we could have extra light Philly! You've made my day.

I'm even eyeing up a bag of almonds I'm so desperate to crunch something. Meat texture really gets to me after a while.

Later on I've got tofu and a dash of soy sauce. I already anticipate being disappointed and hungry later. But I do feel less bloated cutting out carbs/sugar/alcohol so I need to hang on to that long game feeling.

How is everyone managing their cravings?
