Tonight we're gonna diet like it's 2009 - Dukan!

Several years ago I lost nearly 2 stone on Dukan. I was naughty though and didn't carry on with the Consolidation and Stabilisation phases, and definitely not eaten well over the past year, so gradually I've put back on again.

So I've resolved to start over, and do it properly this time! I've started this thread mainly for myself, I realise most people prefer Keto these days and Dukan is very 10 years ago! But if anyone fancies joining they'd be v welcome.

I'm starting with 3 days Attack on Monday.

Well Day 1 of Attack done, wasn't too painful really. Eggs, salmon, yoghurt, with fish for dinner and a Dukan gallette.

SW yesterday was 11st 8 which puts me firmly in the overweight category for bmi.
Actual TW is 9st 7 but it feels like a long way to get there so I'm breaking it up into stages.
Interim TW for me now is 11st. Hoping I can get there by end Jan.

Good luck, you can do it!

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 12/01/2022 09:02

Thanks Salted Smile
On Day 3 of Attack today, then into Cruise tomorrow when I'm looking forward to eating a load of veg!
Scales already showing a nice drop which I'm fully aware is all water but still nice to see the numbers dropping already Smile

Do you know what, I might do this with you for a couple of days as low carb haas really stalled for me.

Also love a dukan galette!

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 12/01/2022 10:41

Oooh yes Gardenia you'd be very welcome! 🤗
I do love a gallette. I also have a really good recipe for Dukan bread, let me know if you want it!

Good luck to you. I may order the book and have a read. I have the Stillmans diet book it's about the same.

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 12/01/2022 17:29

Thanks Petesmum Smile
I think you can get the book for only a couple of pounds now online, it's past its fashionable peak from the days of the Royal wedding! Grin
Even when I'd stopped I still made the gallettes every now and then, really tasty as a healthy snack.

PetesMom · 12/01/2022 17:43

I'm not a huge fan of veggies so I love it. I did it years ago but rusty on the rules now lol.

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 12/01/2022 18:07

thedukandietsite.com/
This website is quite good for all the rules (it's full of ads though I guess why it's free) & explains a fee quirks eg why for example US has different rules to the UK for some foods.
But agree the book is the best reference especially if you want to understand some of the logic behind the diet.
V welcome to join along if you fancy Smile

Would love your recipe for the bread you mentioned above. Hope today went well for you. I had scrambled eggs, I airfryed some ham to make it all crispy. Had yoghurt as a snack and I'll be popping on some chicken breast for later.

Iamneverfull · 13/01/2022 17:03

Oh I lost loads of weight doing this and need to do it again. I might start on Monday but I need to be very prepared with my shopping or else I will give up! I usually buy..
Turkey mince
Fat free yogurt
Toffee muller lights
Eggs
Chargrilled chicken birds eye
Satay/tikka skewers from aldi or Iceland
Fat/carb free noodles
Sainsbury bgty sausages
Fat free jelly
Oat bran
Red milk
Onions/garlic/herbs/tomato puree/lemon juice/encona hot pepper sauce

These aren't all strictly allowed but I was practically Kate Middleton by the time I had finished. I managed to do it on/off until I got pregnant and stay a size 6/8 but I have ballooned a bit, especially since Christmas!

Hope you are getting on well with it so far! I was ready for murder at day 3 but fine after.

Back21970 · 13/01/2022 17:10

Can you drink tea and coffee with milk on this diet? I tried it years ago but only ever for a few days at a time and do remember it was good for losing a quick couple of pounds. Now have 2 stone to lose so would need to be longer term - might see if I still have the book lying around somewhere for the recipes 😊

Yippee! Dukan Bread is here: www.czechinthekitchen.com/2014/02/02/dukan-bread/ It contains oat bran and wheat bran which is apparently a tolerated food. I make it in a loaf tin, slice it and it freezes really well. I have about 4 slices a day as my oat bran portion (so you shouldn't have a galette also that day).

First day of Cruise today so I've been enjoying the return of vegetables Grin Hope the rest of your day goes well!

Back Yes you can drink skimmed milk. Generally the rule is anything up to 10% fat I think. V welcome to join if you fancy it Grin

Thank you for the recipe, cannot wait to try. Today (Day 2 PP)I'm having chicken marinated in gherkin juice, 0% yoghurt,5% fat burgers and more chicken in the fridge if needed.

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 15/01/2022 13:45

Hope everyone's Saturdays are going well!
I managed to stay on the straight and narrow last night despite an Indian takeaway definitely didn't snaffle a bit of DP's samosa with chicken takeaway which was really tasty. Already notice I feel less bloated and "heavy" after food.
Enjoy your weekends all!

I've just been on my dukan shop ready for tomorrow. In the morning I'm having skinny sausages with eggs, lunch chicken skewers and probably chicken again for dinner 😂 or maybe mince/dukan bolognese? I just need to buy oat bran and the skinny noodles. What's everyone's favourite dukan snacks or meals?

aNewYorkerInLondon · 16/01/2022 15:13

Wishing you luck! I love Dukan and had great success with it. I'm currently 6 months pregnant and will not be worrying about it so much until we're through breastfeeding, but I'll be back on it someday!

Just wanted to wish you every success!

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 16/01/2022 18:52

Thanks NewYorker Smile

Sounds like a good first day planned Iamneverfull
I discovered Oppo ice creams recently, they're on offer in waitrose & morrisons at the moment. Fat and carb content looks low enough for Dukan and they are bloody delicious, also not full of crap it seems like a lot of low cal stuff. So I'm enjoying those. I also like veg soups on PV days, so filling. Good luck for Day 1 tomorrow!

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 17/01/2022 10:19

Well that's week 1 done!
SW 11st 8
CW 11st 4
This week's loss 4lb
Interim target 11st. Hopefully on track to get there by end Jan! Just need to stay strict with myself Smile
Good luck anyone starting today!

Well done 👏 It's great when the numbers behave Grin That bread is unreal. I've been having it with lightest philly and chicken.

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 17/01/2022 16:24

Oh so pleased you like the bread! I love it, I can actually have boiled egg & soldiers and it feels like I'm eating a normal breakfast!
Good luck for the rest of your day.

Omg I loved this and lost so much on it. I have the book but I’m a lazy cow so can someone remind me

Attack -just meat, eggs, 0% dairy for three days

Cruise - then move onto cruise which is as above but with veggies?

I’ve forgotten what the galette was and I don’t think I ever had it. What’s the noodles and jelly’s that people are adding? 😍

KateMiddletonsBodyDouble · 17/01/2022 18:01

Hi Peggy! Get your book out, there's a lovely summary page Wink
In brief:
Attack = lean proteins (ie meat/fish/seafood/tofu/dairy with less than 10% fat content) 1.5 tbsp oatbran a day
Cruise = as above, plus non-starchy veggies every other day (ie no potatoes or similar)

I think Attack duration is by how much weight you want to lose, so broadly 3 days for 10-20lb, 5 days for 20-40lb although there's some guidance on this in the book I think.

Come join us!
