Snack ideas

I need to get my carbs under control...as well as needing to lose weight I worry I'm on the road to diabetes with my sweet tooth.

Being at home most of the day I do tend to snack and I need some ideas for low carb/no refined sugar snacks that I can either buy or make in advance to keep in the fridge. The only things I can think of are egg based like hard boiled eggs or little egg muffins. Any ideas?

There are lots of recipes on line for fat bombs.

Celery with nut butter/bovril
Cheese and olives
Rollitos (e.g. salami rolled around cheese)
Nuts
Cucumber and cheese

I think, though, once you are used to low carb (as long as your fat intake is high enough) you don’t really need snacks. My appetite just goes!

Sliced deli meats - check they're
Not pumped full of sugar though or roast your own and keep sliced in the fridge
Pork crackling
Cream cheese and celery
Greek yogurt - can stir through a bit of vanilla extract but I prefer it plain now
Olives
Cashews - I have to be careful - I could eat a LOT of nuts
Cheese

Cashews are mega carby unfortunately (they’re my favourite too) - I think macadamias and almonds are better.

@GorgeousGoldies is absolutely right. One of the main benefits of low carbing is that it will suppress your appetite, so that you won't be hungry between meals, so won't need to snack.

Are tou doing keto, or just lower carb? Get the app carb manager- it has both. Loads of ideas for recipes along with a calculator you can input and work out your daily carbs/protein etc.
