Coming off Keto

Keto has been a success for me and I've lost a stone in 3 months - not rapid weight loss but reducing calories just did not work for me so really pleased. I'm happy with my weight now and just want to maintain. Has anyone come off Keto and kept the weight off.

Yes I've kept it off for 18 months now. I work 4 days a week. On those days I track my carbs closely and keep them at keto level. On days off I eat what I like sticking to low carb foods but don't track it.
So far this approach has worked well for me. I also allow myself 4lbs over my target weight but once I hit it I do a 'reset' until I'm back down to my preferred weight.
I used to have a carb day once a month where I had whatever I wanted but over time the desire for this has become less. Now I just have a carb day if we have plans like going out for a special dinner/birthday etc

That's great news you have kept it off. I enjoy my low carb meals and I don't think I will ever go back to the amount of carbs I used to eat but I'm going to try adding in a bit more fruit and some higher carb veg and see how it goes. I also thought of having one higher carb meal a month which I would save for eating out or with family and friends. I don't miss the sweet stuff but I'd love a proper roast dinner with roast potatoes, stuffing and gravy!

How low did you go? I have pcos and am breastfeeding so am not on keto but lower carb and find as long as I stay under 40-50g per day net carbs and stick to my calorie limits I’m able to maintain.

Potatoes are my weakness too - I try to add fibre to things (psyllium husk, keeping skin on, adding seeds) to reduce net carbs.

When I was/am doing keto I say

Nope 😕

I have successfully lost upto 3 stone low carbing but I can't seem to find a way of eating long term that maintains it & every time the weight has crept back on. It's become a bit of a yo-yo.
I'm sure this is just me & but it does feel a bit like my eating has become more disordered post keto.

Do you use the app Carb Manager? I find if I keep carbs around 50g I don't put weight back on, but it's too many to be in ketosis.
