So I’ve been stalled on low carb for a good month now. I was irritated but not too bothered as there was no way I was going back to how I ate previously, so from my point of view it was carry on carrying on.

I had this inkling that I might be eating too much protein. I don’t track my food so I can’t tell you macro percentages but I’d allowed some low carb bread to creep in and I just had a feeling I was eating too much protein. So the last few days I’ve eaten very low carb, moderate protein, high fat and 4 pounds have disappeared!!!!!!

Are these the ratios most people know to stick to for weight loss? I had in my head it would be more like very low carb, high protein then back fill with fat. I was a bit scared of fat if I’m honest although I knew that excess protein can trigger insulin.

Extra protein is converted to glucose in the body.
Low carb will only work if eaten with high fat. Fat isn't stored in the way that protein and carbs are.

Is there anywhere I can read more about it? I feel like I mainly listen to men lecturing about low carb but their macro percentages must be completely different than that of a peri menopausal woman!!

Have a look on the boot camp threads in low carb - BIWI includes resources at the start of them.

I’ve signed up for the next boot camp. I’ll go look at the resources bit 👌

This is news to me - so glad you posted! I def think this is my issue.
However years ago (20s) I used to do Dukan - Hugh protein, low carb, low fat - and it worked great. Doesn’t seem to work for me anymore though now that I’m in my 40s.
Also starting Bootcamp next Monday so will link any articles here if I find them.
