Hi - just finding my way around loads of recipes and lots to learn.

Most of them seem to have almond flour or coconut flour and have also seen mention of psyllium husk (whatever that is ?)

Before I put in an online order (cos too lazy to get off backside and find a Holland and Barrett) what other things would you suggest I buy.

Thanks

Go for clean natural food as much as poss. Almond flour type things one in a while treat. Tablespoon of psyllium husk in hot lemon water in the morning for additional fibre
Stick to:
Meat
Fish
Green veg and cauli and celeriac
Tomatoes and onions (not too many)
Butter
Olive oils
Seeds
Nuts (not too many)
Eggs
Cheese (not too much)
Cream

I found that too much nutty stuff or things I'd made to be pretend bread or crackers or sweeteners things had a negative effect on weight loss.

Stacks of low carb recipes online without the flour type stuff.

As well as the above PP's list, my low carb staples are:
Coconut oil for frying
Delouis mayo from Waitrose
Haloumi for breakfast
Mushrooms (not too many)
Mint tea
Sparkling water (you need to drink lots of water when eating low carb)
Love celeriac as chips or baked in the oven with cream, anchovies chopped in and mustard. Not in season at the moment though.
Roasted chicken thighs stuffed with herb cheese and wrapped in proscuitto
Eggs, eggs, more eggs... boiled and mashed with butter or as pancakes made from full fat cream cheese.

Definitely raspberries and strawberries.

I don't have any pretend bread, I have occasional slice of rye bread, oatcakes, soda bread. But I am on maintenance at the moment.
