PMS?

I'm not following a true low carb diet as I'm eating fruit and I'm lactose intolerant but I've cut out bread/pasta/rice/potatoes/cake/biscuits etc. for the last two weeks, upped my water intake and tried to get out for a long walk every day.

Today my period took me by surprise. I'm 49 ffs. I was a teenager last time this happened. I've become used to them being a bit erratic (5 weeks since the last one) but I usually get a good week of pre-menstrual symptoms. Sore boobs, achy back and vastly increased irritability are the norm, but I had none of those. Is this likely to be down to my change in diet or are surprise periods another gift from the menopause fairy?

Six and half-a-dozen.

When my periods became erratic, I only sometimes had the moodiness and backaches of PMS, so I used to get caught out. But when I truly ate LCHF (ie without cheating!Grin) I had no PMS.

Wish I'd known about LCHF 20-30 years ago, when PMS used to rip my head off every month.
