Hi, can anyone advise

  • chia seeds, are they ok for low carbing?
  • if so, any ideas for breakfasts?

Have tried them soaked with orange juice as a trial but that's not low carb friendly ...

Hi Fitflopqueen,
For chia seeds, 28.4g or 1 oz, the Total Carbohydrate is 12g.
I usually eat them as cooked porridge (yum).

Put them in juices over night :)
Nice with coconut water.

I sprinkle them on top of Bircher muesli and yoghurt. No idea if that is low carb but fills me up till lunchtime!

Soak them overnight in almond (or any other type of) milk to make delicious chia pudding. You can add whatever fruit/nuts you want either before or after soaking (my favourite is adding torn up raspberries and almonds before soaking).

It looks a bit like frogspawn but it's yum. Grin

Beware - some people get really bad constipation with them (I did Blush ) even with the correct soakimng etx.

Some people get terrible tummy cramps with them too

Not sure why people get constipation? What's that about? I have the highly expensive chia pods from Mr Tesco but am keen to try the home made versions here.
