I've been low carbing for week and ive lost around 4lbs. Anyway I ordered some of those ketosis sticks to pee on and it came out neutral. Why aren't I in ketosis?
I have cut out bread, pasta, potatoes, fruit, apart from berries. Ive eaten lots of fat and dairy, maybe too much cheese. I am new to this.

Any advice? Smile

Hi

Could be those pesky berries… How many are you eating? What veg are you eating. My rule is if it doesn't grow above ground, don't eat it! If it is really leafy, eat it - Asparagus is also my friend.

BTW I read somewhere that ketostix are not a reliable indicator. I use them, but try not to ruled by them - I check about ever 2-3 days.

If you're drinking plenty of water, which you should be doing if you're low carbing, then the ketostix won't change colour anyway as you'll be flushing all the ketones away.

You won't get into ketosis unless you are very, very low carb - so it could be as simple as that. Especially, as Boardingblues says, if you've still been eating fruit. However, you don't need to be in ketosis to lose weight - as you've already proved! 4lbs in a week is fab.
