How often...

do you weigh yourself? I am embarking on my low carbing (I've done it before with good results). Obviously I have weighed myself today to give me my starting weight. Not sure how often to weigh myself. How often do you all weigh yourselves? Grin

I've decided not to. (Plus the scales are broken!). I get too hung up on weight though and am going to go on how I feel/look and take waist measurements. I know what my waist was when I was at my slimmest last summer (successfully low carbed before).

Mm I was thinking of just going on measurements. I have found in the past that I have resolved to only weigh myself once a week, temptation gets the better of me and then I find I have either lost a tiny bit or nothing at all despite being good.

Hope low carb going well shotyourfox Grin

Monthly tape measuring is probably sensible but I never do this....maybe i should start. Apparently it's not worth doing on a weekly basis but I am too lazy for that anyway.

I have a fair bit to lose and am seeing daily weightloss on my digital scales which is encouraging esp when you feel a bit deprived/carb fluey. '2lb something' might be disappointing over a week but if the scale had nudged down a wee bit pretty much each day it would feel more worthwhile.

Sometimes a weekly weigh in can be more misleading than a daily weigh in as weight can vary a lot over a day and you might have an optimum weigh in one week followed by an inopportune weigh in the next making that week's loss look poorer than reality.

Getting undressed and moving scales to our tiny bathroom is a pita so i don't feel any temptation to do it more than once a day!

Having said all that my sudden embracing of daily weigh ins has been inspired by this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/2173079-SLIMTEMBER-Duncan-from-blue-and-tea-that-makes-you-poo which baically embraces the philosophy of I don't care about being healthy I just want to lose weight Grin

I like to weigh daily and I use a phone app that gives me a trend line. ie it works out a running average over a set period of days so it levels out the peaks and troughs that you get with a LC plan. That's another reason why I don't like a weekly weigh in. If it falls on the up swing I get depressed! Grin

I weigh daily and track like Miffy. After a year I know before I weigh what they'll say :)
