Just wondering what happened next? :)

I'm doing well. I have kept the weight off and remained stable as you can see from my graph. I don't think I'll do it again but it did work to lose the holiday weight. I can recommend eating a lot of eggs if you want to suppress your appetite effectively while eating very low carb. Kind of like Slimfast only it's egg in a cup for breakfast, cheese omelette for lunch and a 'proper' (low carb) dinner.

Well done! I quite like eggs anyway and am finding that with three buttery scrambled eggs for breakfast that I don't really need to eat lunch.

I follow the Harcombe Diet but I might incorporate a couple of egg fasts each week (2 egg meals and a low carb meal) into my maintenance plan to allow me to have a mixing day each week.

I lurked and did it as well and lost 6lb in three days. It was tough going by the third day (and I love eggs normally). Weight has stayed off though as it sort of 're-set' my LC button. Don't think I could do it again tbh although still have eggs for breakfast.

PseudoBadger · 28/08/2014 12:50

Stunt did you all start off doing eggs for all meals and then adapt it to include a normal LC dinner? I've read the first couple of pages of the thread but due to baby wrangling haven't managed to see where it changes from you all just essentially eating eggs to including a meal?
I'm on the plan anyway, 3 eggs scrambled with butter, and an oz of cheese so far today. Omlette when I get hungry, and not sure about dinner.

Eggs for every meal: usually egg in a cup, scrambled and omelette. One tbsp fat for every egg was butter and coconut oil, sometimes in a BPC to keep the proportions right. I only had a small amount of cheese, e.g. a couple of Babybels a day. I ate nine eggs the first day and seven the second and third days. Transitioning back to LCHF I used meals that produced a similar macronutrient profile such as a small steak and some salad with vinaigrette or tinned sardines and salad. I still eat two eggs at least once a day, sometimes twice or if I'm intermittent fasting I have three eggs for brunch. I was worried about protein levels so I try to keep those around 20% a day. I wouldn't egg fast again but I do think eating a lot of eggs and very low carb helps with appetite control.

StuntNun · 28/08/2014 13:01

So it was all egg meals for three days, two egg meals the next day then eggs at least once a day ever since.

PseudoBadger · 28/08/2014 13:06

Thanks for the reply, I think I'll do 2 egg meals and a normal dinner, that's what I feel comfortable with.

StuntNun · 28/08/2014 14:27

That's been working well for me Pseudo, after the egg fast I lost another 2.5 lb over the remaining four weeks of the last Bootcamp. The choline in the eggs is supposed to optimise fat burning. Hmm I would recommend watching your macros though as I find I need to keep carbs low and fat high or those carb cravings sneak in.

PseudoBadger · 28/08/2014 14:28

Thanks, yes by 'normal' I meant low carb normal!

StuntNun · 28/08/2014 15:32

I have to stay very low, about 20g carbs a day, for best results.
