I am seriously surprised how little weight I have lost since reading & following "Instinctive Fitness" (now 8 weeks) We eat only a tiny amount of wheat, hardly any sugar, obviously lower carbs and over all a very healthy diet based on basic foods. But lo and behold a few pounds were lost but nothing worth talking about.

My diet was good before but we were consuming wheat breakfast, wholemeal bread lunch and pasta tea plus a few bits of sugar here and there.

I am just a tad over 11 stone and short so I look very fat. I would be looking at 9.5st at the very limit. To add I'm not a big consumer of fruit either.

What is going on?

what did you eat yesterday

are you counting your carbs?

No I'm not counting carbs as the diet is a healthy life change for us 'Primal diet'. I do use MFP but depends on how busy I am in the past I have got approx 75g

Yest:
B: Fresh fruit salad with greek set yoghurt & honey
L: Lots of Salad with avocado, smoked fish, bit of ham
T: pork chop with baked veg (peppers, onion, toms)
S: 70% chocolate piece, cheese.

water, tea & coffee with full fat milk.

How much exercise are you taking? I can do any diet but lose no weight at all unless combined with exercise.

low carb works because you aren't feeding your body sugar ( natural or otherwise) therefore it uses your existing stores of fat for energy.

your diet suggests to me that you are probably feeding yourself too much sugar

My though was that there's quite a bit of sugar in your diet - I know some fruit and honey are ok on a paleo/primal approach but they are sugary. You could try the Bootcamp that is about to start...?

I have no idea about 'Instinctive fitness'. But if you want significant/quick weight loss from low carb, you need to limit carbs more than that, I suspect. So no honey with your yoghurt, ensure that the yoghurt is low carb (less than 4g per 100g e.g. Total brand or Lidl's own), and a few berries with it or no fruit at all.

Salad, fish etc all good. Peppers are quite high in carb for veg.

Fruit and honey are fine for weight maintenance under a primal approach, but too sugary for weightless bit iyswim.

You might find you have more weight loss if you add in a little more protein at breakfast. For example you could liquidize 100g of full fat cottage cheese in with your yogurt.

Eating protein aids fat burning as it promotes the body's release of glucagon.
