So here we are! Over 160 of us signed up!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your first weight

If you aren't on the list for any reason, just go to the bottom of the list and add your name - the lovely Willie will sort out the alphabetisation later.

From experience of previous Bootcamps, the chat thread can move very quickly! So, if you have a specific or particular question, please post it on the questions thread I will do my best to check it as often as I can, as will other seasoned Bootcampers.

If you have a really burning issue, please feel free to PM me and I will do my very best to help you as soon as possible.

And if you're looking for inspiration for things to cook, here's the recipe thread

Here is a brief reminder of the rules:

We do not eat any of the following during Bootcamp:

bread
rice
pasta/noodles
potatoes
flour
pastry
sugar
chocolate/sweets
biscuits/cookies
crisps

And here are the ten rules of Bootcamp:

  1. You must eat breakfast.
  2. Avoid processed food
  3. Eat lots of fat
  4. Make sure you are eating vegetables and salads with your food
  5. Be careful about dairy (apart from butter, which is unlimited)
  6. You must drink a minimum of 2 litres of water per day
  7. No alcohol
  8. No fruit
  9. No nuts/seeds
10. No sugar or artificial sweeteners

More detail/explanation of these rules is on the spreadsheet ? look at the tabs at the bottom.

One final word from me ? the disclaimer! I am not a doctor, a scientist, a dietician nor a nutritionist. The advice that is given here is based on my own experience of low carbing, as well as the reading I have been doing over the last few years.

If you have a medical condition, or you are taking long term medication, please take advice from your GP/consultant before starting to low carb.

Good luck everyone!

Hello all.

Well done on resisting the wine Torrorossa! You will be pleased tomorrow hopefully.

We had cooked breakfast this morning - bacon, egg sausage and fried mushrooms.

Then I nipped into town for a few things including some shelf extender things from Lakeland. They didn't have the ones I wanted so I bought one of a type they did have. Came home to find it plus another would fit perfectly in the cupboard so DH took me back into town for some more. We then spent the afternoon reorganising the kitchen. Chucked out a load of out of date WW stuff! Pantry cupboard much more organised and it will be easier to see what we have.

Forgot to have lunch which is unheard of for me. So ha e just had two cold sausages and a couple of forkfuls of cheese deli filler.

Roast chicken for dinner here this evening. With left over celeriac mash from last night and roasted veg for me.

Not done well on the water and still drinking too much tea. Next weeks task is to cut way back on the tea.

Ok I think I need to cut down/out dairy. Has anyone found this has kickstarted their weight loss? I haven't lost a single pound so far, but I have been having quite a bit of cream and cheese.

halfthesize · 15/09/2013 16:35

Hello and welcome pinkGrin

halfthesize · 15/09/2013 16:36

well done on New jeans LillyGrin

Purple2012 · 15/09/2013 16:37

How much cheese holmes? You shouldn't have too much, I keep well under 100g of cheese a day. I could eat it all day if I let myself.

holmessweetholmes · 15/09/2013 16:39

Don't know really - but as I've been having creamy sauces, some greek yoghurt and occasionally a bit of milk in tea, it must all add up.

timidviper · 15/09/2013 16:54

holmes I don't know how long you've been doing it but don't rush to cut things out too soon. I have sometimes had some really frustrating times when I have stuck at one weight and it is sometimes just a matter of keeping going then it suddenly whooshes off.

MrsHerculePoirot · 15/09/2013 16:55

holmes I find I am ok with a bit of milk in tea, and creamy sauces but greek yoghurt for some reason slows me right down so I just stopped it and it helped.

Well done on the jeans Lily!

My house smells of lamb shanks which have been in the the slow cooker all day - mmmmmmm mmmmmmmm!

Snatchoo · 15/09/2013 17:01

I'm feeling pretty good so far. Started a week before Bootcamp started so I'm two weeks in (nearly) and aside from a couple of coffees with milk instead of cream, haven't fallen off the wagon at all!

I am weighing everyday, not for the weightlose per se, but more because I read a thread on My Fitness Pal where someone did that every day and learned not to sweat the fluctuations. I'm hoping this will help me too as this has ALWAYS been my downfall in the past - no loss for a couple of weeks and I quite Sad

I have lost a few pounds already which is brilliant, I have a lot to go but already it's noticeable around my middle.

DH is doing it with me - true to form he's lost loads more than me.

holmessweetholmes · 15/09/2013 17:02

Thanks folks - will cut down on cheese and cream a bit and hang on in there! The main reason I'm sticking at it in spite of no weight loss is that I'm so amazed at the reduction in appetite!

Snatchoo · 15/09/2013 17:03

For those of you having an issue with cravings, you might want to try phase 1 of The Harcombe Diet. She's big into food intolerances and candida being a huge problem for weight loss, by doing phase one you are cutting right back. It's essentially meat and green veg for 5 days, you're allowed eggs but now dairy.

I try and do this every few days because otherwise I know I tend to overload on dairy which isn't good for me.

CrabbyBigBottom · 15/09/2013 17:12

Negroni thanks! Smile

Ma you need to eat something! Yogurt and coleslaw are not enough to keep you going from breakfast through to dinner; no wonder you were ready to chew your arm off! If you let yourself get hungry you are WAAAAAAY more likely to give in to carbs or wine. My willpower is non-existent when I'm hungry.

Lily well done on your jeans! Flowers

CrabbyBigBottom · 15/09/2013 17:15

I find this WOE difficult at totm too, btw - when I'm bleeding really heavily I need more carbs, I think. That means carbier veg or extra berries or some dark chocolate though, not sugary crap. Wink

I am weak today... the roast is cooking and the red wine is calling me... Blush

Purple2012 · 15/09/2013 17:16

For those of you on Facebook go on to fitness world page. They have just posted a picture about food cravings and what you should eat instead of what you are craving. Can't link as on my phone.

bettybigballs · 15/09/2013 17:29

Ohhh myyyyy days! Have just booked flights for Bali in December so I'm in bootcamp overdrive! Have to shift a stone by then. Beef stew in slow cooker and egg muffins for week all cooked up.

MrsHerculePoirot · 15/09/2013 17:32

Crabby DON'T DO IT!!! Think of your willer!!!

In the words of wise old Cider

1 it will knock you out of ketosis
2 it may may you crave more
3 it will affect your willer (aka will power)
4 BIWI has a very big stick

AuntieMaggie · 15/09/2013 17:38

I am really struggling :(

I don't want to give up because I have loads to lose so please can you help me with suggestions for lunches and evening meals?

I don't like tuna, am off steak and anything too rich... any ideas?

goodasitgets · 15/09/2013 17:49

Cod/other fish in a parcel with some herbs
Chicken wrapped in bacon
Pork loin/chop

CrabbyBigBottom · 15/09/2013 17:51

Grin MrsH I'm not considering my willer at the moment, it must be the smell of the chicken roasting causing a pavlovian lush response!

Auntie DON'T give up, this really works! Have you looked at the recipe threads? My blog is here with some low carb recipes on.

goodasitgets · 15/09/2013 17:51

Or how about a good old roast chicken? With plenty of veg
Lunches I tend to eat tinned fish with salad or cold chicken

BlackAffronted · 15/09/2013 18:01

Not expecting any weightloss this week, I sinned badly at an chip shop all you can eat buffet today Blush

BlackAffronted · 15/09/2013 18:05

AuntieMaggie, this is my dinner plan this week ...

pork & ribboned creamy veg

boiled bacon & cabbage

saucy chicken & veg one-pot

beef & greens stir-fry

and finally, cauli/broccoli cheese & gammon.

BlackAffronted · 15/09/2013 18:06

Obviously, if the recipe has a carby component, I omit it. Its easy to adapt all these recipes.

loopyloou · 15/09/2013 18:29

Auntmaggie, how about home made burgers (without the bread roll), or chilli con carne without kidney beans, or bolognese without spaghetti with grated cheese on top.

timidviper · 15/09/2013 18:36

Jamie Oliver's new book has a recipe in called Zombir Brain which is a whole celeriac, baked in foil with butter and herbs. I hate JO but am so going to try that. 2.5hrs at 190c if my memory is correct.
