Hi,
I started AR's body blitz diet two and a half weeks ago and I am really enjoying it. I lost weight on WW before but counting points/calories really depressed me and I can't do it long term.

My question is:

Is this diet low-carb and is this why it works? She has 5 rules:

  1. No sugar
  2. No wheat
  3. No alcohol
  4. Limited dairy
  5. No carbs after 6pm

So, for example, today I had porridge with nuts for breakfast, mixed baby salad leaves with tomatoes, olives, prosciutto and avo, a ryvita with humous and then I will have bolognese with shredded cabbage instead of pasta.

Is this low carbing? If not, can I do it and still get the benefits others on the bootcamp are getting? I am losing weight fairly quickly, I am enjoying it and I know I can sustain it long term.

Cheers

Thanks I will post stats tomorrow when I brave the scales - for now I am having a weekend of denial and overindulgence !
Am all set for tomorrow though.
Am going to have to be very organised as lack of sleep is definitely a factor in the bad habits.
Breakfast- porridge
Lunch - soup and rye bread (found some without any rule breakers at farmers market )
Dinner - Chicken and roast veg

Have ordered a slow cooker to help me prepare healthy meals.

Happy camping prissy

Well done peachy day one here.. So I braved the scales this morning. Inevitably it was worse than I feared . I have put on an extra half astone since initial post birth weight. Shock
So starting weight is 11 11
Height 5 6
Target 10 7 by Christmas
Ideally would love to be 10 stone.

Porridge for breakfast - starving by 11 so have already had a Ryvita snack - but lunchtime is in sight !

How is everyone?
I am shocked by how hungry I am!
I had half a banana to get ne through nursery run - then a huge breakfast - 2 eggs, ham and some rye bread and still I can't wait for lunch.
Maybe I didn't realise how much I was eating before.
Did others find this - when will it get easier?

Ledkr · 01/10/2013 18:05

I wasn't hungry on it just a bit bored.
I'm right off the wagon but eating ok.
Need to get my head straight and get on with it.

I haven't been that hungry either. But I do drink a lot of coffee! Keep going- you are doing your body a lot of good!

Thanks both - today was better than yesterday - though we had a stressful evening and there has been wine involved.
Cooked a huge vat of chilli so that should see me through a few meals.

Hello are you all still at it?
DH and I had our first official weigh in today - and are -9 and -7 respectively. Woo hoo!
Have to say am not sure what I have lost as my jeans feel tighter than ever but we are both enjoying it and feel motivated to continue.
We haven't been that strict on some of the rules but we were eating a lot of bad carbs before so it's been a big change.

Well done live-in!
Been crazy busy here, and was away for three days on training course. Food was essentially bread. And then more bread. With a bit more bread. And pastries. No chance to get anything else as it was all plated and I hadn't asked for gf/df, so now I feel like a whale. Trapped in a hotel from 8am until 9.30 in a city I don't know, so just got on with it. It was really very interesting to see what happened just by eating like that for three days. I felt dreadful when I got home.

Anyway - no loss here as a result, but am back on the wagon and trying to straighten out my diet and feel better again.

Hope you are feeling better, peachy.

Ooh, this has reminded me to dig my copy of her book out. I have decided to try for 3 healthy meals a day, and to cut out my unhealthy sugary snacks, and this looks like a good starting place. I was thinking about low carb but it seems a bit too drastic for me, will try this first and see how I go.

Are you still all following it ok?

Littlepumpkinpie · 18/10/2013 15:14

I have those rules in my diet at the moment but have to have 5 meals a day. If its not on the list of foods I am not allowed it. This was given to me by my personal trainer 3 weeks ago its very strict and my fatloss measurements are done weekly so far the inches/fat are vanishing quickly. My weight loss is also good but that will be going back up as I build muscle.
