Morning Campers!

I hope Storm Bert hasn't affected you too badly - looks like it's been awful in South Wales Sad It was mostly just windy in South London, but also weirdly warm, at 16 degrees. So at least we didn't have the heating on!

So we have three full weeks to go. I see from the spreadsheet that there are at least three people who look like they might make a whole stone by the end, so fingers crossed for them. But also, obviously, still time for everyone else to drop at least another 3lbs or so. (Whilst also acknowledging that we're heading at speed into party season ... !)

Here's the spreadsheet

Good luck Flowers

Good morning everyone. I have had quite a stressful week. DD was hospitalised earlier in the week with a severe tonsil infection. Thankfully she is home again and recovering but is scheduled for a tonsillectomy in early January. It is her final year in school and is aiming high so this is a huge stress for her. Poor kid 😢

Between all the A&E waiting and stress etc I managed reasonably well apart from not hitting my water targets. I got caught without food one day at the hospital so ended up buying a trek bar, ate half and felt sick as it was much too sweet. Early the following morning I made some flaxseed muffins and they have been super handy in my time of need.

I fully expected a gain but on stepping in the scales yesterday morning I was down half a kg from earlier in the week. I then stupidly had a couple of glasses of prosecco last night and ate two chocolates from a box someone brought to DD. I didn't particularly enjoy the chocolate so why did I eat them? I am so cross with myself ☹️

Anyhow dusting myself off and back in the saddle I go!

Sorry to hear about your daughter @Goodiewhemper - but at least when she's had them removed it won't happen again Flowers

Accidental carb consumption at brunch this morning - ordered a meal that sounded like the carbs were on the side, but it was all cooked in together. I managed to largely pick out the low carb bits, but definitely consumed a good few mexican beans and some tortilla that wouldn't detach from the melted cheese!

Couldn't believe how bloated I felt afterwards, so it was a good confirmation at least that low carb meals are so much kinder to my belly and it definitely hasn't made me want more in the immediate future.

Hope everyone has a good food weekend ahead!

@Goodiewhemper hope your daughter gets well soon . Our eldest had his tonsils out in the November when he was in Yr 13 , the problem we had was getting him into theatre in between infections as they wouldn’t operate on infected tonsils . This was several years ago so not sure if the criteria has changed .

Had a bit of a "whoosh" and am down to 12st 6.5lb Grin That's over a stone this Boot Camp Smile

Not sure if it will "stick" to tomorrow but it's still quite a lift to see Halo

I'm now more confident that I can get to my goal of under 12st by Christmas Xmas Smile

BIWI · 01/12/2024 10:01

Great progress @prettybird! But I think that's a rather ambitious next target you've set yourself

I know Xmas Blush - but I usually manage to lose 6-7lb in December with all the running around Xmas Wink I only have one lunch to navigate and one weekend with my best friend down in Manchester (but I've told her I'm following a HFLC WoE) the bigger problem will be the wine we'll consume while discussing my bastard brother Wink

The important thing is that I won't be disappointed and demotivated if I don't achieve it and am still delighted with the progress I have made Xmas Smile

Well done everyone and sorry to hear about the challenges this week - tonsils are particularly nasty aren't they!

Am a bit apprehensive about navigating a few celebratory meals out over the next couple of weeks, I'm looking at menus and the LC veggie options are pretty non-existent, so just going to do my best and/or enjoy one meal without stressing too much and get straight back on the wagon.

Will there be a January bootcamp? Thank you so much for running this one BIWI.

ReconstructionSite · 01/12/2024 10:36

That's a great whoosh @prettybird. I admire your determination!

BIWI · 01/12/2024 13:15

I'm thinking of doing one in January, just for the month of January, which will be a dry one - @LCagain - would you be up for that?!

Floralnomad · 01/12/2024 15:43

@BIWI I will do that one , I’m dry all year so that bit won’t bother me .

LCagain · 01/12/2024 20:07

Yes definitely interested, thank you! I don't drink any more either so AF here either way.

I’d definitely be very grateful for a January bootcamp. 🙏🏽

BIWI · 01/12/2024 23:15

But are you prepared to commit to a dry one @Bex5490?

I have fucked it big time this week.

I've gained 2lb (grateful it wasn't more). I've been rubbish.
I've not put it on the spreadsheet
I'm definitely up for January 😭

@BIWI would you consider following more-or-less school times?
Personally, I work in schools, so it's easier for me to be on it during termtime.
But lots of parents of young dc on here, and I imagine they'll find term time routines easier to follow too

CleanQueen123 · 02/12/2024 07:56

I'd be up for a dry January bootcamp too!

Yeah definitely… I’ve got a 7 month old baby so not really drinking much anyway. I plan to get it out my system over Christmas!
