For one month only - 4 weeks of strict Bootcamp, which means no booze.

If you want to, you can do Bootcamp Light, but with the exception of no alcohol.

All welcome! But please, only sign up if you are prepared to do the whole thing without alcohol.

Today I have discovered whipped feta and I honestly don’t think I will ever be the same again. There will always be a ‘before whipped feta’ and ‘after whipped feta’ line across my existence where I lament how much time in the before time I have wasted not eating it.

Ooh, what do you whip the feta with?

I saw a few references to whipped st agur.

I tried to Google at work but I work in a school and got results blocked due to the whipped part Blush.

It’s just a block of feta and a couple of tablespoons of Greek yoghurt, plus lemon juice and garlic in the food processor. It made tons so I’ve now got a pot of it in the fridge for dipping a spoon in later Blush

That sounds lovely. As luck would have it, I have all of those ingredients and no desire to cook today!

It’s soooo good. I’d describe it like extra creamy spreadable soft cheese, like a Boursin type thing but with feta flavour

Back in the UK and resolved to start straightaway regardless of jet lag rather than putting it off... am enjoying it so far. More than most of the carbs I ate while we were away. Thanks for the accountability!
Scales seem to be broken at the moment, am interested to see where I am but think this WOE is more for energy/ditching the cravings for me now than the weight loss.

BIWI · 05/01/2024 14:33

That whipped feta sounds amazing!

Honestly a game changer. I’m dehydrating thin cut chorizo as we speak so I can dip them in like a low carb version of chips and dips Grin

I’ve a butternut squash that needs eating up. I know it’s quite carby but any ideas please? I could do my usual butternut & pineapple Thai curry but without the pineapple and more peppers & spinach. I’ve looked at recipes and it’s risotto after risotto.

A curried butternut soup with loads of cream would be nice?

Or I’d roast it in the oven in plenty of oil and salt and serve it with goats cheese in a salad, maybe with watermelon and a few walnuts too.

Oooh! Or, you know how you do stuffed marrow?? I’d cut it in half long ways, roast it with garlic and salt in olive oil nice and slow, then load it with something lovely like a Moroccan minced lamb dry curry (without apricots) with a dollop of Greek yoghurt on there. yummmmmm

TheOnlyMrsW · 05/01/2024 15:35

I reckon roasted with @Metabolicallycomplicated's whipped feta would be brilliant........that feta is going on the list too, it sounds lush!
I definitely identify with the alcohol habits, before I worked from home cooking dinner with a glass of wine was my way of decompressing after the day and it's definitely stuck when I cook, also the "deserve it after the day I've had" mindset, did ok earlier in the week when DD's world was ending so will employ the same thing tonight to get over the "it's Friday" hump!!!

prettybird · 05/01/2024 15:44

I have multiple tubs of Lidl full fat Greek yoghurt (as you got it as a free offer if you spent £150 there in a month - and I did so on two different accounts over the last few months Grin) so I'm definitely going to be trying that whipped feta dish Smile

Almahart · 05/01/2024 16:20

Hallo all, just back from a carby week away so back on bootcamp. @BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas please could you add me to the spreadsheet?

Going to go and catch up on the thread now x

BIWI · 05/01/2024 16:33

You're on, @Almahart! Welcome back.

I know we're not fully way through the week yet, but I've noticed several people who haven't entered anything on the spreadsheet. Presumably they've decided not to take part?

I'll leave it till Sunday, but then will delete all those names where there is no data.

I’ve had tuna mayo for lunch and bunless cheeseburger, coleslaw with a small Greek salad for tea.

I did buy some of the low carb bread rolls, bread and wraps (it’s not my first rodeo) but saving them until I start to get a little fed up, as it stands I’m enjoying being back on the keto life.

mimosa1 · 05/01/2024 18:08

@Kettlebellend it's got water, wheat gluten, wheat flour, modified wheat starch, vegetable palm fat and a zillion E numbers and some yeast. I wonder if it's just wheat and few carbs because they're small and thin?

Saltysausage · 05/01/2024 18:54

I went out for lunch today at Flat Iron, it was easy to choose low carb options. Steak, creamed spinach, aubergine with tomato and mozzarella. I swerved the free ice cream at the end. It was all delicious but my stomach wasn’t very happy afterwards.

LowCarbingIn2024 · 05/01/2024 19:10

Drooling at the whipped feta.

That's going on the list.

And totally get the association thing with alcohol. I'll carry that with me

RooRooCooChoo · 05/01/2024 19:21

Thanks for the good wishes all. Was just finishing dinner when I saw @Metabolicallycomplicated 's whipped feta, so the block that was going to be baked has now been whipped. Thanks for the inspiration!

PurpleWhirple · 05/01/2024 20:04

I think I'd quite like @Metabolicallycomplicated to cook all my meals, everything you've suggested sounds amazing

Dinner here tonight was chicken breast with chorizo and yellow peppers, accompanied with buttery cabbage. The others had a family favourite that's far too carby for bootcamp but I was quite happy with mine.

Thesoundofmusic23 · 05/01/2024 20:55
