Summer 23 Boot Camp, Week 4: we (might) enter the doldrums

Here we are in Week 4 already - nearly half way through Shock. By now, most of us should be seeing some good results - but not necessarily all of us to the same extent as our bodies are all different. Wink

Remember that many of us experience a few weeks of doldrums over Week 3, especially Week 4 and even possibly week 5, where the scales will resolutely refuse to move - or even move upwards slightly Hmm. This is normal as your body adjusts to this WoE, so keep the faith , follow the rules , KOKO and the scales will to move again. In the meantime, concentrate on the NSVs, like better sleep, better skin, more energy and/or looser clothes. Halo

Remember that this is a marathon not a sprint, and try not to get too fixated on the short term. All healthy weight loss regimes will eventually settle down to a rate of 1-2lb/week but at least on this WoE, you can enjoy healthy, tasty food and not be hungry all the time. Grin Concentrate on what you can eat, not what you can't Flowers

I’ll get our lovely Spreadsheet Monitor @FinallyHere to link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness Flowers

Here's to another good week - onward and downward Smile

Just finished (I hope) eating for the day. Bacon and cucumber for breakfast, tiny leftover portion of lamb tikka for lunch and a huge bowl of Thai veg curry for dinner. More water than I’ve managed so far, so am pleased with that. Hoping the scales will reward me tomorrow, but even if they don’t I am doing well with NSVs too so will be sanguine.

@Newlease they are from a brand called Beanies and I got them from Aldi. There's also a brand called Littles which do some nice flavours too

@LadyBird1973 as they say, the best diet is the one you can stick to. Over time your palate does change and your will naturally gravitate towards what's good for you. You will of course still be tempted by some foods but they can be incorporated in the future when you're aiming for weight maintenance rather than weight loss. I'm a sucker for cheesecake and I still have it occasionally but, I'm telling you, I REALLY enjoy it when I have it now and I savour every bite.

Feeling nearly 100% today. I've also discovered a new found love for sparkling water! I think before I found it bitter but now my palette has changed a little it tastes like a really treat.
I also managed to swerve the free bar at a kids party, and they had a cheese, crackers and meat selection which was ideal.
B. Eggs and spinach
L. Cheese, salami and chicken
D. Home made carbonara with courgette spaghetti
S. Bag of Red Leicester Cheesies
Need to cut down on the cheese next week!

@Baystard agree with you on the small coffees. While I was in France I lost weight (despite some big carb errors) and loved having tiny cups of 'noisette'. Back home and I'm having a full big mug of creamy coffee - actually a small one would be equally delicious and probably more appreciated.

@Baystard that’s a good idea. Will see what I can find. I don’t usually eat pork because Dd (autistic and pig obsessed…) gets upset and I told her I’d try and cut it out as much as possible. It’s so easy for festivals/days out though. I’ve already bought some chorizo crisps from m and s as I’m sure I can eat them subtly. I’ll see if there’s anything else I can get.
