Pre-Christmas Low Carb Bootcamp - starting 18 October - SIGN UP!

Very many thanks to @StuntNun @OneBornEveryDecade and @OuchMyFeet for running the last Bootcamp.

The pre-Christmas Bootcamp will start on 18 October and this time, instead of the usual 10 weeks, it will run for 8 weeks. This means that the last day will be 12 December. This allows us all a couple of weeks to party before Christmas! (If you want to, of course Wink!)

As ever, in the next couple of weeks I'll start a preparation/planning thread, but for now - if you want to join in, just add your name to the list. If you don't want to be on the spreadsheet, for recording your weight, then just put NO SPREADSHEET after your name.

I'm all prepped- eggs boiled for late breakfasts at work, two days of salads and yogurt ready for lunches, and a curry made ready for tomorrow night as I'll be in late after a haircut.

I'm not joining officially but would like to lurk / chip in every now abs the. for this one please!

I've been ongoing LC since my first BC in Feb and I've learnt that the strict first 2 week BC rules don't work for my history of disordered eating. I'm better off sticking to BC light permanently so that's what im doing Smile

Also, in 2 weeks, I am staying in a hotel, away with work, for 2 weeks where my time and my food won't be my own. This will likely mean some occasions where the only options will be limited in variety and quantity so I will have to take what I'm given! I have various strategies / plans for damage limitation but I'm also being realistic and giving myself permission to take the least stressful option if necessary.

I shall be cheering everyone on from the sidelines until after that so will 'see' you properly on 15th November.

To those of you who've never tried this, stick with it if you find it a big adjustment at first. It's solved so many symptoms / issues for me so it's about way more than weight loss.

Plus everyone here is really nice. Which is a bonus!

I hear you @FusionChefGeoff I know I can stick to a regime. That's not what I can't do. What I cannot do it seems is take the middle path long term. I'm either all in or all out. I'm either 9 stone or 11 stone. I'm actually doing things a bit differently this time. The Middle Path. Yes low carb but I am not going to look at a courgette and weigh out 100 grams and eye up the rest of the courgette like it's a cake. I'm just doing it my way this time. I'm not sure what boot camp is to be honest.
Will I be able for it!

Those thoughts were when I was Keto. I will not do keto again. It worked, oh m god it worked, never been so lean. But it wasn't good for my head to be categorising vegetables as ''bad''. That is not right for me. But I'm glad I did keto because now ''just'' low carb seems do-able.

Is the first two weeks of BC really really low carb? (keto?) I could do it for two weeks but not forever.

@QueenDanu to answer your question specifically, Bootcamp sounds like it will be right up your street as there's no counting of carbs at all. (Or calories - we don't count those).

It's not as low carb as keto (although you can keep your carbs that low if you wish) and it's much more about enjoying good quality, unprocessed foods as much as possible.
