Morning all,

I’d love some advice and help from those that know about all things keto.
I started eating keto around 6 weeks ago and i’ve lost close to 1 stone. I’d like to lose another half a stone ideally. I’m 5ft 8 and 10.8 so a normal BMI but would still like to drop a couple more lbs.

The problem is that over the last couple of weeks the amount of food i’m eating has dropped right off to the point where i’m fasting from 6pm until lunchtime the following day and only eating around 800 calories a day and always less than 20g carbs a day. Frustratingly I’m no longer losing any weight! I’m weighing and tracking on MyFitnessPal so i’m certain i’m not underestimating what i’m eating but i’m just at a loss of what to do to drop the last few lbs.

Any advice would be gratefully received! x

You aren’t eating enough, that’s why! Why are you cutting your calories so low? All you’re doing is reducing your metabolism and forcing your body to hold on to everything.

Nothing wrong with the fasting, but you need to give your body more nourishment than that.

Get hold of a book called 'Why We Eat (Too Much) by Dr Andrew Jenkinson. That will explain why your approach is ultimately counterproductive for you.

The thing with keto is it's not just keeping under 20g of carbs otherwise you end up severely undereating (As you are), you need to be eating around 150-200g (or more) of fat to compensate the lack of carbs which would push your calories up

… and also, just to be clear, Bootcamp isn't keto!

Many thanks both for your advice. I’ve started upping my fat and calorie intake a bit to see if that gets things started again! Thanks @BIWI I’ll be sure to check out that book. x
