I rather suspect that a lot of us have been so far off the wagon this weekend that it's disappeared over the far horizon!

having to post on the spreadsheet may sober us all up, in more ways than one!

I hope any cheats were enjoyable. There's nothing worse than deciding to cheat and then not liking it.

But from now, it's time to buckle down and get back into the swing of things. If you did cheat, please don't complain that the scales aren't being kind to you. It's an inevitable consequence.

So let's focus on a really strict week, recognising that this is the end of our first half of Bootcamp.

Good luck to us all Flowers

I'm also struggling with mood and anxiety, so much going on here at the moment. I'm really missing swimming. Yoga is helpful but I find it hard to motivate myself to do it.

Dinner will be some Waitrose chicken breasts in lemon with celeriac mash and broccoli.

Bestbees · 17/02/2021 15:46

Sorry to hear so many people struggling with their mood at the moment Flowers
@BIWI pause in the fabric of time is a beautiful sentiment.

Those talking about adult children. When I was in my early 20s my DH was very ill. He was given a 30%chance of survival and 30% chance of the treatment itself killing him (stem cell transplants). As he got better we had ivf and I had multiple miscarriages. It was horrific. Now as a parent I look back and think about how that was for my parents, i was very unhappy obviously and my life was so different to what any parent would want. Being a parent never gets easier, it just changes I guess!

I hope posting here helps people, and that this WOE helps to steady our nerves and keep us in health to best manage our emotions and those around us.

My granny died yesterday, and the sadness has somewhat displaced the daily anxieties. I don't remind myself often enough of that "if everyone's alive and fed at the end of day" phrase.

StuntNun · 17/02/2021 16:08

I'm so sorry to hear about your granny Athelstane. Sending love. Thanks

@AthelstaneTheUnready so sorry to hear your sad news Flowers

AthelstaneTheUnready · 17/02/2021 17:17

Thank you, that's really appreciated. Apparently she was sitting down nattering away to her helper, and then just keeled over mid-sentence. A really good way to do it.

So today I am not worrying, I am eating well and being grateful, and I'm going to live long enough to blow her 101 years out of the water. competitive under all circumstances

Dreamqueen · 17/02/2021 17:22

Ouch I made the swede dauphinoise today. It's so delicious. I had it with lamb chops and kale with butter. We're proper old people here and have dinner between 4.30 and 5pm. Followed off with a couple spoons of greek yoghurt. It was all so satisfying.

Oneborneverydecade · 17/02/2021 17:22

So sorry @AthelstaneTheUnready take care x

Dreamqueen · 17/02/2021 17:24

Athelstane sending condolences to you Flowers

Ninkanink · 17/02/2021 17:31

Oh @AthelstaneTheUnready Sad but you’re right, that absolutely is the best way. Flowers Take care of yourself.

prettybird · 17/02/2021 17:33

That sounds a good way to go Athelstane Thanks- but it will still be sad for you and your family.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 17/02/2021 18:10

@AthelstaneTheUnready my condolences too. That does sound like a good end, if end there must be, but she'll be very much missed I'm sure.

@Jollyholibobs have you read Understanding Cystitis by Angela Kilmartin? I had recurrent cystitis all through my late teens (fun during A levels) and following her techniques really helped me stop it.

That and a sympathetic Family Planning Clinic doctor who was horrified that my GP had left me untreated after the first line antibiotics stopped working, mostly I suspect because he disapproved of me having sex at 18 and thought I was bringing it on myself.

Almahart · 17/02/2021 18:11

So very sorry @AthelstaneTheUnready Thanks

NotwatchingSpooks · 17/02/2021 18:17

Bestbees · 17/02/2021 18:26

@AthelstaneTheUnready a good way to go for sure.

Planning this tomorrow, with swede instead of potato. Will serve with tuna steak and brocoli.

I'm sorry to hear your sad news Athelstane and for everyone who is feeling sad/anxious at the moment. I had some difficult times a few weeks ago but its a bit better just now - I've found it to be a real up and down year when sometimes it's easy to be positive and sometimes impossible to deal with any of it, and everything in between. I'm finding the focus of BC and the discipline of checking in with you everyday helpful and I hope others do too.

I've put my challenge recipe on the meat thread here: Lamb in Creamy Mustard Sauce it's definitely worth a try!

L - the frittata I made yesterday with the last of the hm coleslaw
D - one of the leftovers in the fridge, either spicy meatballs with kale or sausages with celeriac mash and braised cabbage. Desperate to create some room in the fridge today!

prettybird · 17/02/2021 18:31

I've just bought this belt in small from
John Lewis - and it fits just, on mid rise trousers Smile Dh now needs to find the receipt for the large Shock one that he bought me for Christmas Hmm so that he can take it back when JL eventually re-opens. Grin

I also bought these Hobbs Marianne black velvet jeans in Size 12 - but after ordering them, I thought that the midnight blue velvet ones would be better so I could wear them with my blue satin blouse that dh got me for Christmas. I'd then have a pair of blue denim skinny jeans, black denim straight jeans, black "posh" trousers - and some blue velvet ones. The black velvet ones arrived today and fit well, so I ordered the blue velvet ones. Once they've arrived (just in case they're out of stock or there's a problem), I'll return the black velvet ones.

Sorry for your loss Athelstane and also glad she didn't suffer after such a great innings Thanks

Lamb curry was really nice, but lots of faff. Saag aloo (celeriac) was out of this world though!

Currently on the hunt for nice flattish shoes that don't make me look like an oversized Tweenie when I wear a dress. Very difficult.

BIWI · 17/02/2021 19:09

101 is a fine innings!
