I rather suspect that a lot of us have been so far off the wagon this weekend that it's disappeared over the far horizon!

having to post on the spreadsheet may sober us all up, in more ways than one!

I hope any cheats were enjoyable. There's nothing worse than deciding to cheat and then not liking it.

But from now, it's time to buckle down and get back into the swing of things. If you did cheat, please don't complain that the scales aren't being kind to you. It's an inevitable consequence.

So let's focus on a really strict week, recognising that this is the end of our first half of Bootcamp.

Good luck to us all Flowers

@Lyrata oh yes I suffer from a fair bit of lifestyle envy too! Grin Whilst still being very aware that I’ve got a lovely lifestyle myself, of course. I think that’s quite normal and not unhealthy unless you let it get the better of you - I look at it as a good thing - it’s a reflection of the breadth and width and depth of one’s character, an appreciation of the richness of the human experience and a yearning for any number of lives I might have lived had things happened differently. Doesn’t at all take away from how grateful I am for the life I do lead.

nowlook · 16/02/2021 14:07

I think it's VeryLittleOwl who rustles sheep!

I envy townies on the thread who are having lots of lovely artisan food and meal kits delivered. And also good cooks. And people who are retired. Basically, I'm a bubbling pot of molten jealousy Grin

nowlook · 16/02/2021 14:10

Sorry to hear your news @ListenLinda. I've a wardrobe of formal and not-so-formal black dresses if you need one! Thanks

Having a very nice day browsing cookbooks and trying to drink my water. Have designated today our lazy day for half term and am ignoring the screen time total completely. Made the DC pancakes for breakfast and am going to let them go wild with the crepe party machine for dinner. (I did not feel tempted by pancakes but not licking Nutella off fingers is pretty impossible) In the middle am serving up a roast dinner (reheating leftovers from Sunday) and using up bits from the fridge for my lunch.
L - pate with cucumber, hm coleslaw and a frittata with spinach, broccoli and feta.
D - will be lamb fillet with some kind of made up creamy sauce, spinach with Boursin and roasted green beans.

Oneborneverydecade · 16/02/2021 15:08

Ha me too @nowlook my most irrational one is when people are near their target. Almost as though it's their fault that I had/have 5st to lose and they only had 2 (eg). How dare people find their weightloss mojo 3st before I did?! My DH gave me a funny look when I spoke this outloud

Ha! I do that too @Oneborneverydecade. My particular ire is reserved for those who are near my proprietary target weight, no matter where they started Blush

Oneborneverydecade · 16/02/2021 15:13

Apologies for not thanking everyone sooner for their period pant suggestions. Wuka look great.

I was mid 38 hour fast yesterday and found it best to avoid all the mentions of delicious food on here.

Ninkanink · 16/02/2021 15:17

Ahhh I miss my gel manicures. Contemplated getting a system too but I’m fairly certain I’d never actually use it...but please do let us know what your verdict is as I might be tempted after all (After I’m done not spending in March-April). I like a lovely dark red on my nails - so elegant, and goes with everything!

poorbuthappy · 16/02/2021 15:28

I do my Shellac at home.
Good quality lamp and buy the varnish from Ebay and Amazon.
Done it for donkey years. Saved myself a fortune.

That’s like people taking your baby name that you never even told anyone about!!

Christ will definitely report back. Have you had gel manicures before? It’s basically a lot with the LED/UV lamp so you just paint your nail as as normal with the gel polish—it won’t work on normal polish—and voila, two weeks of manicure pretty much guaranteed.

That’s the hope anyway.

If this one works I’ll order in my favourite colours from my normal salon. And when lockdown ends I’ll go back to them because they’re guaranteed to do a better job of it than I will!

pinkpinkeverywhere · 16/02/2021 15:34

@Oneborneverydecade I'm the same! So glad I'm not the only one. I dream of when I might achieve their weight and wonder what it will feel like!

Ninkanink · 16/02/2021 15:34

Just be careful to leave a gap like they do in the salon - you can become allergic otherwise, with prolonged use.

The cost of this kit could get me three gel manicures so anything I do after that is gravy. I’m big on cost per use. Plus my manicures are tax deductible because of my business. In fact, so are all my beauty products, makeup, and clothes.

Envy Envy
If it helps, it’s only at 50%. Grin

Thanks for the tip about leaving space.

Now off to shove a celery and Boursin in my gob.

@BIWI

Reporting back on the pizzas I made yesterday with the flour from the Low Carb food company

Although they were tasty, by virtue of the tomato sauce I'd made, and the toppings I used (have to blow my own trumpet there!), the bases were not really that good. I used a pizza dough recipe from Sainsbury's, but as I was making it I wasn't convinced it was going to work. It was very dense/heavy, and so when cooked for the requisite amount of time it was still a bit stodgy.

But it scratched the itch for pizza, and both DH and DS1 ate plenty of it, so it wasn't a total disaster!

@BIWI that's disappointing! I've got that flour and was planning to do the same.

Have you tried making bread with it yet?

cheeseisthebest · 16/02/2021 17:48

I've eaten my tea at half 4 after breakfast at half ten (no lunch) so will be hungry later. Any ideas? No yoghurt or cream. Not much food in really! Got ham, cheese, cucumber, prawns, cream cheese. Bit stuck!

Ninkanink · 16/02/2021 17:51

I would just do a little platter with some of each of those. Maybe not the prawns, since they don’t really go with the rest of it. Have you got a couple of eggs to make devilled eggs?

Ninkanink · 16/02/2021 17:53

You could also make ham and cream cheese roll-ups with cucumber.

cheeseisthebest · 16/02/2021 18:02

Mm yes good idea. I've already had eggs today and there arent any left!
Sounds strange but prawns mixed with cream cheese is actually quite nice!

Ninkanink · 16/02/2021 18:07

Yes I was actually going to suggest that too.

cheeseisthebest · 16/02/2021 18:09

With butter too!
Thank you, might just do some random picky bit like you said.

VeryLittleOwl · 16/02/2021 18:20

Trust me, it's not as idyllic as it sounds - after putting the sheep back out on the hills yesterday, I put some feed into my rucksack this morning to walk back out to them and found that the sods had all wandered the mile and a half back to the village gate and were waiting there on the bare ground, rather than settling on the nice ungrazed bit of hill I'd left them on yesterday. I walked them all the way back out again and fingers crossed this time they'll stay there! Sheep and horses are fine when the weather's nice, but when I'm out there with wind gusting to 70mph (over that and we don't go outside, it's too dangerous) and horizontal rain, I think longingly of living in a city again.
