I've just found black bean soya spaghetti. And Nut Bars.

From looking at he nutritional info, I think they are okay.

Any advice?

I would say the spaghetti yes, the nut bars no. I go by the under 5g of carbs per 100g makes it a low carb product. Depending on your daily carb allowance 5.9g is really high, and the majority of that is sugar.

Maybe as a treat once you are way in the swing of things.

Annoyingly I've checked a few of the Aldi's here and can't find this spaghetti anywhere!

I allow myself about 25g carbs.

So I've been having bacon/eggs for breakfast. Lunch is usually lettuce with spring onions, goats cheese and a couple walnuts. Dinner is always meat and veg or salad.

So I thought even with the nut bars I'm well within range. Its those pesky sugars isn't it. I have also been eating Misfits bars which are 6.8g of carbs but they have literally saved me.

I've actually managed a full month of low carb now and lost a stone.

You could always give the bars a try and if you keep losing keep them in, if your loss stalls cut them out and see what happens. I'm not a purist, I'm not against keeping something technically not allowed in if you are still losing and it keeps you sane!

I'm back at the start though after falling off the wagon towards the mid end of January so I'll have to be super strict to kick me off. Losing a stone is great! Well done.

@NotYourHolidayDick if you're doing Bootcamp (as opposed to just general low carbing) then the chocolate bars really aren't encouraged - I can't see the ingredients, but apart from being sweetened, either with sugar or artificial sweeteners, they're often very processed, which is what we're trying to avoid.

The pasta looks OK though (although again I can't see the ingredients!)

BIWI I'm not doing bootcamp this time (you might possibly remember me from YEARS ago- monkeyfacegrace), just low carbing to shift the 3st from lockdown Grin

The pasta is 100% organic black soya beans. Thats literally it. Its a GAME CHANGER. I'm eating it by the packet load and its removed any desire for normal carbs completely. I just desperately don't want it to have an impact on my loss when I weigh next week

Let me know if it does! (And yes, I remember you Grin)

NotYourHolidayDick · 06/02/2021 17:14

Still haven't given up that Pepsi Max, despite the repeated bollockings from you Grin

Glad to see you're still thriving with the bootcampers. I just pop in now and again when I have a wobble, but all in all its an easy way of life for me now. Except when we are locked down all summer in 30 degree heat and we have our first bottle of wine at midday and, well, yeah. Will chuck this remaining 2st off by Easter and carry on as normal then!

Good luck!

I've walked past this stuff so many times, never occurred to me it would be low carb! Or edible...

Must try.

Omg @NotYourHolidayDick I was just reminiscing about you - not by name as I have a really shit memory - and the long-running Pepsi Max argument, on our just-finished bootcamp!
