Its DHs birthday. He really really wants to pretend we are out for a meal and really wants a Chinese.

What on earth can I order that is keto?! I don't want to fuck this up as I'm doing so bloody well Sad

I have no idea I’m afraid, everything tastes very sweet from the Chinese! But following in case I’m ever in the same predicament Grin

UglyHoose · 18/01/2021 17:24

How about duck pancakes and leave the pancakes?
Or foo yung which is pretty much an omelette?

BIWI · 18/01/2021 17:26

Do they have lettuce wraps on the menu?

Actually - do you have a link to their menu online? Perhaps we can have a look and see what might work for you.

NotYourHolidayDick · 18/01/2021 17:26

I hate omelette, thats the only thing I won't eat.

Duck pancakes is an option but I guess I can't have the hoi sin?

I was thinking crispy seaweed and salt and pepper ribs?

It doesn't even need to be a proper meal, I just need to order something to eat to be involved

just leave away the most obvious carbs (rice, dumplings, battered stuff) and enjoy the meal.

BIWI · 18/01/2021 17:29

Be careful with the crispy seaweed, as they put a lot of sugar in that.

NotYourHolidayDick · 18/01/2021 17:31

Fuck, that was my easy option.
I'm craving a goats cheese and walnut salad too 🤣

Cant find a menu anywhere, but its not posh so def no lettuce wraps!

Are they on Deliveroo or Just Eat - there'll be a menu on there if they are. Happy to look it over for you!

Laska2Meryls · 18/01/2021 17:33

salt and pepper ribs
prawns with mushrooms and beansprouts ..maybe?

BIWI · 18/01/2021 17:38

Stir-fried veg is an option to consider - just avoid obviously sugary sauces. If there's something just stir fried with soy sauce and garlic/chilli I'd go for that.

Chicken satay is usually OK

NotYourHolidayDick · 18/01/2021 18:11

Not on justeat sadly. We live in the sticks and its a very small local place.

So salt and pepper ribs, satay chicken and make my own salad? I might get away with that.

OP posts:
HollowTalk · 18/01/2021 18:12

Satay chicken and salad would keep you within the carb limits, wouldn't it? Good for you for sticking to it!

museumum · 18/01/2021 18:16

duck pancakes, chicken satay, tempura prawns, all without dipping sauce, you might get away with chicken with cashew nuts and beansprouts too. have you had any carbs today so far?

BIWI · 18/01/2021 18:26

Not cashew nuts! They're really, really carby

NotYourHolidayDick · 18/01/2021 18:31

I'm autistic so when I've decided to drop weight nothing will stop me. One of the only benefits of being this mental Wink

I won't break.

Which is why this is upsetting me enough to start a thread. Might just woman up and tell DH to fuck his chinese.

Today so far I had flaxseed pizza for breakfast, and a tiny (fit into a takeaway tub) bacon and cheese salad for lunch. I did have a small apple but I'm a teacher and it was to convince a child to eat one too 😂

Other than that nothing else has passed my lips.

Chicken with broccoli?

MarshaBradyo · 18/01/2021 19:18

I haven’t had this for a while but I’d just have the duck

newtb · 01/02/2021 13:15

Have stir-fried beansprouts instead of rice. I used to do that when low-carbing.
