The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Morning all. Sorry for the late start - had a bit of a bad night so slept longer than usual.

I hope that the scales were kind to you this morning, but please remember week 4 is notorious (along with week 3) in that you are very likely to have seen no loss, or even a small gain

If this has happened to you, DON'T PANIC!

This is your body adjusting to a new WOE, and from now on you should be burning fat. So don't change what you've been doing and things will get moving again; you should expect to see 1-3lbs losses each week (depending on how much you have to lose)

However, it's also important to be scrupulously honest with yourself. If you have had no loss, or seen a gain, go back over what you have been eating and drinking. Have you been following the rules? Have you been keeping your fat levels high? Have you been drinking all the water?

Good luck to us all for the following week as we go into lockdown once again. I know it's not going to be easy, and the lure of carbs (and all the alcohol) will be even more ever-present. Post here if you're needing support to stay away from them and together we can help each other. Remember, you're not alone!

I've only made it the once and the mince base was cool when I put the eggy cheese mix on top and it stayed as a layer.

Anotherducker · 04/11/2020 12:44

I think I prefer it soaked in, which is probably wrong!

Oneborneverydecade · 04/11/2020 13:11

Does anyone have any experience with diastasis recti? My goal is a flat tummy but I'm wondering if that's realistic after 3 kids. I was just watching a video where a mum lost 60lb but needed a tummy tuck to get a flat tummy - that's definitely not an option. How would I know if I had it?

20bloodypumpkins · 04/11/2020 13:43

@Takingontheundead sorry to hear you are feeling down. I'm finding it incredibly frustrating that there seems to be little logic about some of the decision being made currently, and I'm feeling a bit lonely and alone. Getting out yesterday to a work related meeting was such a boost to my mood. Not got another one for 6 weeks though.

The way I'm trying to view it is that there is very little I can control or affect in the outside world trying to not even look at any news related to US today but today I can control what I put in my mouth, and what food I buy in the shops, so I'm trying not to let the 'out of control' cause me to fuck it up. I've been trying to find other ways to channel the anger and ranting. Currently tidying a load of old paperwork and putting a box of stuff aside to rip up next time I feel furious. Paper-ripping good, crisp-eating bad as they say in the keto version of Animal Farm

B - coffee with cream (at 11am)
L - fried egg, fried mushroom, spinach
D - chicken with Asian salad

CrepuscularCritter · 04/11/2020 13:46

Checking in with a non-scale victory aa DH called me an incredible shrinking Critter last night. Not entirely endorsed by my scales, but there's been a modest loss. In other news I was gobsmacked to find out just how much milk I was getting through on my own before bootcamp. And I dont know quite how, with just a couple of small (palm of hand) sized bowls of cereal a week. I must have been making coffee that was half milk!

Thanks to everyone who offered advice on food to have while working in fields. It's going ok so far, although the flgv is a bit more of a challenge when working late. Kale chips have been my friend. Today I've made crustless quiche for tomorrow and Friday which can go with a salad. Also making a cottage pie for tonight topped with celeriac mash and to be served with sprouts, cabbage greens and courgette.

Anotherducker · 04/11/2020 13:47

@Oneborneverydecade
Is that when your stomach muscles separate? If so, you can test it by laying on your back, lift your head and shoulders slightly and feel for the firm ridge along your stomach. There’s a gap in the middle and the amount of fingers you can fit in shows how bad it is.

Anotherducker · 04/11/2020 13:50

I feel washed out today. Cold and really tired. Not sure my body has adjusted fully to low carb yet.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 04/11/2020 14:22

Spent last night building flat pack furniture, which took 4 hours! So dinner ended up being skyr yoghurt with raspberries and a few almonds. Bloody IKEA! No parts were labelled, so I had a fun evening Wink. Made me think about my grandparents and what they'd say if they knew I'd spent all that money, plus £40 delivery fee for something I have to build myself!
Anyway, breakfast was 2 boiled eggs and 2 slices of bacon.
Lunch was a cheese and salad sandwich (on the low carb bread) with plenty of butter and mayo. Plus yoghurt.
Dinner will be curry and flgv.

VeryLittleOwl · 04/11/2020 14:35

Feeling very flat today - I got up to watch election results at 2, went back to bed at 4 when it was clear there wasn't going to be any kind of result, and then got back up at 6 when DH's alarm went off. I don't normally eat breakfast, but did today, as I suspected I was going to have carb cravings galore and hoped it might help stave them off a bit. It sort of worked, I haven't attacked DH's large collection of chocolate, his four large bags of crisps, his three packets of biscuits or his two tubs of ice cream, but oh boy, do I want to demolish the lot. Fortunately going into town shortly for my flu jab.

B: Full-fat yoghurt with double cream stirred in
L: Chicken and vegetable soup, chunk of cheese
S: Probably sausage casserole

On my fifth pint of the day already.

poorbuthappy · 04/11/2020 15:26

Happy hump day everyone.

NSV for me - I keep doing my belt up the next notch in (2nd to tightest) when I have a wee (which is happening a lot), it only lasts 20 or so mins until I'm sat back down on here, sorry WFH, and I realise it's a little bit uncomfortable. But it reaches, and it does up although temporarily!

Now for a question - yoghurt...what do people put in it apart from double cream to just make it more palatable?

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 04/11/2020 15:32

I've added cinnamon to mine or berries and almonds.

poorbuthappy · 04/11/2020 15:36

Almonds - I must remember to buy almonds!
Thank you @MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously

Jdhshekr · 04/11/2020 15:44

I’m really cold today and can’t get warm even with the heating and the fire on and loads of layers. I’m tired and chilly and I don’t want to cheat at all but what I really want is for someone to bring me a lovely roast dinner (minus any carby bits) without me having to do any cooking because it’s freezing in my kitchen. Sadly I live alone (with DC most of the time) so nobody to cook for me. I really wish there was a takeaway service for low carb meals for days like these or even just some ready meal options that you can just chuck in the microwave.

SuperbGorgonzola · 04/11/2020 16:04

I like cinnamon in my yoghurt but tbf I bloody love ff greek yoghurt on its own. I probably overdo it to be honest as it hits my pudding craving.

I'm doing a kit day on Friday so need to plan carefully. My usual MO at work can often be to eat very little then binge as soon as I get home or even in the car if I stop for petrol on the way. DH will be home with the DCs so I'll see if he can have tea nearly ready and I'll have some boiled eggs in the fridge as well.

The eating in the car is a big target for me as it's proper secret eating type behaviour and Not Good. I've an hour's drive each way and it's purely out of boredom on the way home.

Hello, got a pound off this week which was a Week 3 shocker. Also had a couple of beers at the weekend (wrong type of booze I know, but anything else really messes me up!. Had terrible lockdown blues over the weekend combined with appalling weather so the rules of boot camp gave me some routine to stick to!
Made the cheese scones - my god, what a treat!! Put most in the freezer but so great to have something of that texture with cheese or scrambled eggs. Will certainly make them again, thanks for the recipe.
Well done all on persistence and thanks for all the exciting meal suggestions!

If you keep on drinking beer you won't see any losses!

I don't know what type of beer you're drinking, but just as an example, one 330ml bottle of Peroni has 10.5g carbs.

Way, way too much for Bootcamp.

Snowbeau welcome, of course you can join us.

I woke up excited about the election , now looking like a tortuous few days.

I find I get the munchies if I don’t drink enough water, it really does help.

Today
B Greek yogurt with Tsp double cream
L salad with chicken and bacon, olive oil dressing
D chicken curry , roast cauliflower and roasted green beans

3 litres water, drunk as

300ml hot water, I swapped out my morning tea for this as my taste buds can’t tell difference first thing

NotwatchingSpooks · 04/11/2020 16:21

..... then lots of herbal teas and fizzy water

ponygirlcurtis · 04/11/2020 16:37

Me too on the cold and can't heat up front. I have 4 layers on and it isn't touching it. Sad

Takingontheundead · 04/11/2020 16:52

Never had mashed swede before. Turns out its fairly carby 🤦‍♀️ got it confused with celeriac.

BIWI · 04/11/2020 17:20

Who told you it was carby?

According to the carb counter on the spreadsheet it's 2.3g carbs per 100g; Sainsbury's have it at 4.8g per 100g - which is still not really that bad. It's fine on Bootcamp.

(You've been on MFP again, haven't you?!)

L : Slice of cheeseburger pie, leek and cabbage soup.

D: Roast chicken, FLGV

All the water. Including 2 x electrolyte drinks.

Feel like it’s worth noting a few changes in myself other than weight. My skin is much clearer and brighter. My stomach is very settled, no IBS (apart from some soup I ate that I had history with!) My moods are more even. I’m less snappy with the kids. Hormones (so far) appear more balanced. I wake up more alert and less tired. Really great progress over all!

BIWI · 04/11/2020 17:34

I made the cheeseburger pie last night - I'd forgotten just how tasty it was. And that it's even nicer cold the next day!

I totally swear down, I used sainsbury's!

I don't even have the mfp app anymore 😇
