Low-carb AND Low Fodmap - eek

I'm going to launch into Low-carb this week, having been mulling it over a lot lately. I'm 4 stone overweight. The thing is, I've have both IBD and IBS so should try to have my diet as low Fodmap as possible. When I have lots of broccoli and cauliflower etc I can practically propel myself around the house with the force of my farts. If anyone has done this combination and can post meal suggestions or recipes I'd be so grateful! 🙏

No experience myself but it might be better to think about what you can eat rather than what you can't eat. When first going low carb it's easiest to start with a small repertoire of meals that you expand slowly. If you can put together a meal plan for one week then there's nothing wrong with repeating that a few times while you get used to this way of eating.

I wonder if you might find that your sensitivity to certain foods changes as your diet does.

You can absolutely low carb without cauliflower and broccoli etc, just make sure to eat plenty of other veg like spinach, mushrooms etc (not sure which ones are low fodmap, Sorry!)

I follow a page called Dr Berg on FB and he talks a lot about the way other conditions interact with low carb. Might be worth a look on You Tube to see if he talks about IBS and IBD in relation to low carb.

Thanks stuntmum and markruffalo. Yes I think I'll just have to through my low carb veg list etc with a highlighter pen for flagging Fodmap issues.
