Want to start Bootcamp Wk 1 tomorrow? (Yes, yes I am late to the party)

Reading @BIWI excellent posts, I'm all fired up and ready to go, but am clearly too late to start on the current week.

Does anyone want to do week 1 by following the advice on the thread: "Super Strict Leaving Lockdown Low Carb Bootcamp Week 1"? Ideally I'd like to start tomorrow and fancy some companions here to keep me motivated.

Good luck to all the "losers" so far!! An inspiration.

I'll do it with you! I actually started on Wednesday, but happy to stay strict for another week because my lockdown weight gain is immense.

I did a bootcamp last spring and the results were amazing!!

nowlook · 14/06/2020 11:20

Oh, and don't be afraid to post on the main thread either- they won't bite (although BIWI has a stick) Grin

NOTANUM · 14/06/2020 11:32

@nowlook - that's brilliant! I'm glad to read of your success so far.
I am determined to stick with it.. I have never really properly lost weight before - just the off few pounds - but could do with 2 stone off to get BMI clearly into the green territory.

Excellent. I'm hoping for a similar loss by Christmas to take me to my happy weight of 8st 12 (I'm a short arse!)

Just keep reading and reading and reading the rules. The biggest thing for me at first was making sure to drink enough water. It really made all the difference. I've got pint glasses littered around the house which makes it look like the roof's leaking in several places.

I'm also a pretty lousy cook, so having quick and easy things at my disposal for when I can't be arsed is helpful (Baxter's beef consomme; tinned tuna; full fat greek yoghurt; all the eggs; all the spinach and mushrooms; those midget gem lettuces to use as boats; cheese).

Couldn't give up my morning cuppa, but use unsweetened soya milk with 0g carbs now.

Rightmovenewbie · 14/06/2020 11:59

I’m in ! But I don’t eat meat, are there food guidelines anywhere ?

nowlook · 14/06/2020 12:06

Yes! If you go to the top post on the most recent thread by @BIWI, you'll find a "spreadsheet of fabulousness". On the tabs, there are Vegetarian Bootcamp rules. Do you eat eggs? fish? You'll also find vegetarian bootcamp recipes stickied at the top of the chat.

But, the best thing to do is to get on the actual thread and ask the people who have done it all before many times.

It's OK to be behind or ahead of anybody else- they're honestly very welcoming!

Just come and join us on the current thread. There are already some newbies at varying start points.

Some of us are always on bootcamp/bootcamp lite/LCHF so the thread always keeps running once each official bootcamp is done.

Ninkanink · 14/06/2020 12:11

Skip the first super strict week though. At this stage the calorie counting will be confusing and counter productive. Just come and join us where we’re at now (but do the first two bootcamp weeks as usual).

Jkslays · 14/06/2020 12:13

Yes me!! I’m just off out now for supplies!! Can I have a link to where the other thread is too please

NOTANUM · 14/06/2020 12:14

@Ninkanink So we should join the current week but do week 2? Skipping week 1 might be good actually as I don't like counting calories so closely.
@nowlook good tip on the water. I was leaving the house just now and grabbed a water bottle after reading your tip.

Welcome @Jkslays and @rightmovenewbie!! The more the merrier!!

Honestly, just post on this one- much easier to stay motivated when there's a tribe Grin

Ninkanink · 14/06/2020 12:19

That would definitely be my suggestion. But you can do whatever best suits you, of course.

RozHuntleysStump · 15/06/2020 08:17

I am starting today. Put on about 20 lbs over lockdown 😭😭😭. I’ve lost 3 stone on this diet before so I’m all in.

Boiled eggs for breakfast with black coffee. Then going out later for supplies. Going to have salad for lunch and salmon and veg for tea.

Eggbound · 15/06/2020 09:30

I'm in. Have been planning for a few weeks to start today, with a family member's significant birthday (and All The Food) now behind me. I am going to do the strict first week though. I'll hop over to the other thread then, as suggested.

Yogatoga09 · 17/06/2020 09:20

I would like to join please! I love carbs so going to find this tough. However I’ve tried everything else and not stuck to it, hopefully this will be the one! I’ve mostly done SW in the past which I don’t think has helped carb wise. I’ve a stone to lose, I need to fit into my summer clothes before autumn!!

Ninkanink · 22/06/2020 10:05

@Yogatoga09 come find us on the current bootcamp thread here
