Welcome to the last week of our ten-week Low Carb Bootcamp. Don't forget to weigh-in and update the spreadsheet and let's focus on staying on track this week. Next Monday will be the last Bootcamp thread but, never fear, we all stick around and keep chatting away until it's time for the next Bootcamp around May.

2lb on for me. Not sure why I am even place marking with that

TheClitterati · 16/03/2020 16:07

it's no bog deal

in these strange bog roll strained times I am very happy to hear this Prettybird Grin

prettybird · 16/03/2020 16:09

You're placemarking because we're here for support Smile. I've posted when I've gone up as well as when I've gone down.

When I've not wanted to post because I've gone up, it's usually because I'm about to give in to the fuck-its and I'm in denial Blush

prettybird · 16/03/2020 16:11

Hadn't noticed the typo Blush

Thanks to my No-Deal Brexit stash, I'm ok for c20 weeks for bog roll Grin

TheClitterati · 16/03/2020 17:04

I'm a Who Give a Crap subscriber - & I'm also well stocked prior to C19

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 16/03/2020 17:12

I have 4 and a half loo rolls. They'll last about 2 weeks.

ShagMeRiggins · 16/03/2020 18:52

Clit you’re on the spreadsheet now.

Wondering if your lack of chickpeas/lentils has helped with the IBS? Well done on 17lb loss.

ShagMeRiggins · 16/03/2020 18:58

prettybird I’ve entered your STS weight from last week on the SoF but for some reason it took the .25 (which showed as that last week) and made it a .3 in this week’s cell. No idea but anticipate a loss if you STS next week. Wink

Loo roll. We have about 10 in the house—three bathrooms, 5-6 persons—and will be lucky if it lasts a week. Four males, two females. Hmm

prettybird · 16/03/2020 20:39

That's ok shagmeriggins - it rounds up to .3 (or .8 if you put in .75) in the spreadsheet but it still calculates on the 1/4lb Confused

TheClitterati · 16/03/2020 21:54

Thanks ShagMe!

CaptainofmyownShip · 17/03/2020 06:47

Morning gang!

Just done my weigh in. Since starting low carb on 27 Jan I'm down 10Ib. So overall I'm very pleased with the weight loss, deeper sleep, more hydrated skin and healthier food intake; I've never baked and cooked so much in my life!

I'm definitely sticking around for bootcamp break with a view to joining the next bc and being included on the SoF!

Stay safe everyone in these concerning times.

MrsBertBibby · 17/03/2020 08:13

I intend to stick around, although I am not sure the low carbing will survive in the face of empty supermarket shelves! Hells bells it is a scary time.

Doilooklikeatourist · 17/03/2020 08:31

Morning all , slept really badly last night as I’m so worried about the Coronavirus wrecking my business ( cafe )
Anyway , will have to KOKO and hope for the best 😷
Not sure of my menu yet , but I know I’ll be having scrambled eggs for breakfast / brunch
DD managed to get a flight back from Spain on Sunday night , she looked at the fridge and shook her head , so a trip to Tesco will be happening later

MrsBertBibby · 17/03/2020 08:44

Oh hell Tourist I am so worried for independent cafes etc. Are you getting any rate reduction benefit?

My sister and her H are having to race back to Malawi where they are doctors. They can't even transit through South Africa so are going home early to make it back. Cases as ever rammed with kit for their hospital. Very scared about what will unfold in places like Malawi when it hits. They have next to nothing.

Doilooklikeatourist · 17/03/2020 08:48

@MrsBert , the Welsh Assembly have just announced that they will slash business rates , so let’s hope so

BrassicaBabe · 17/03/2020 12:21

@Doilooklikeatourist campsite owner here. Also worried. I stand with you Thanks

Rshard · 17/03/2020 14:47

My heart goes out to those of you who run small businesses. I’m going to do my best to support local independent shops, like my village butcher and coffee shops

Doilooklikeatourist · 17/03/2020 20:42

Not too bad a day
Didn’t stress eat trying to fill in a form for the mortgage holiday , they want a projected cash flow forecast ( possibly no cash will be flowing in as everything is cancelled ! They’re the bank , they know how much money goes in and out )
Anyway , rant over ....
B cheese omlette
L ummm cheese 👍
D pork sausages , cauli cheese , mushrooms , shallots and tomatoes , should have had some greens , but the shelves in Tesco were terribly bare
Lots of water , and will have a buttermint tea whist I watch The Split

MrsBertBibby · 18/03/2020 07:27

Morning peeps! Hope the mortgage holiday happens.

MrsBertBibby · 18/03/2020 22:11

Gosh it's quiet in here. Is everyone just reeling at the situation? I'm Completely freaked by the gcse cancellation. WTF?

MrsGarethSouthgate · 18/03/2020 23:47

I'm still here 😊 Desperately hoping to lose 1 more lb before Monday so I can finish in the very top end of the 11 stones 🤞🏻

PinkSubscriber · 19/03/2020 07:18

Just dropping in to say morning to anyone who is still checking in. Not really sure if I should post it all seems trivial now.

Personally my appetite is all over the place. I feel like comfort eating so I’m having dark chocolate and jelly and cream. Weighed this morning and I’m 2lbs below my target. I’m finding I’m now not knowing what to do food wise. I’m wfh and stressed I think if I dive into the biscuit tin I may never come out.

Take care all. It would be nice to hear how you are.

venusandmars · 19/03/2020 07:47

Hi Pink I don't think low-carb is trivial. Anything we can do to look after our own health has to be good. That includes taking care of our weight, eating lots of healthy veg, managing our immune systems by reducing sugar and insulin. And at least we're not in the battle for pasta and rice!

Yes, it does feel like a bit of a luxury to spend time on lchf, but maybe this is a good time to read all the articles I've not had time for, and to institute so good self care habits, like yoga and meditation.

That doesn't minimise the worry - about family, my work (self-employed and all contracts cancelled), and about the world in general - but there are many ways we can support each other during the strange time, and being on here is one of them.

I bet that collectively we can come up with some impressive recipes if the only things left on supermarket shelves are pilchards, kale and coconut milk!

Keep well everyone.

CaptainofmyownShip · 19/03/2020 07:49

Morning All

I'm still here and still lc-ing but agree the Coronavirus situation is overshadowing everything. My job is wfh anyway but now all client appointments have been switched from F2F to virtual. I'm practicing social distancing but my efforts are nullified by my partner whose job has required him to be on site. Both trying to mitigate that with lots of handwashing.

Koko and stay safe.

ShagMeRiggins · 19/03/2020 08:39

Well, we’re on lockdown for at least two weeks now as eldest was sent home from school with dry cough and shortness of breath. Developed a slight fever last night so obviously monitoring him but he’s a teenager and therefore invincible. Hmm

We have been preparing for this for a while therefore there is lots of delicious food in the house. Only thing we couldn’t find anywhere is paracetamol. Only two packs at the moment but very good community here so lots of offers in case of emergency.

The yoga thing sounds like a great idea. I’d also like to make time to organise some files and things for work, focus on social media content for my business, and sort some things around the house. All those little jobs that get put off!
