Low-carb bootcamp

Week 10 - Low Carb Bootcamp - just one more week to go

Morning all.

Normally I'd post a link to the spreadsheet, but I don't appear to be able to get into Google docs for some reason. I'll keep trying and will add the link when I can.

So there's just this last week before we give in we get to Christmas! I know a lot of you are worrying about what's going to happen and how you're going to navigate things, especially if someone else is doing all the cooking.

Best advice? Don't panic too much about one day. Enjoy it - especially if someone else is providing the food. But try to keep it to the one day as far as you can. Make sure you keep the water up, and try not to use going off plan as an excuse to fall face first into the Quality Street tin!

Have a good week Flowers

I'm still here too. I've lost 6lb this bootcamp. 8lb more to go until I get back to my lowest weight, 10st 4lb, but I was running and horse riding then .

I am having the shittiest day. Only thing I’m looking toward to is The Apprentice finale tonight, and a steak. That is all.

Five sizes down is pretty damn impressive, 1Wildheartsease. Brava!

How is everyone doing with avoiding Christmas temptation? I've had a couple of mulled wines but otherwise stayed on the straight and narrow.

Good news is that I was down to 11st 8lb this morning Smile I might just break through the half stone by Christmas Grin

....but the not so good alternative news is that I had my Pilates Ladies lunch today at a lovely posh restaurant. I was very good: didn't have the roll with the starter, chose a low carb starter (ham hough terrine with celeriac remoulade), asked them to swap the mashed potatoes for green veg (came with french beans instead) and only ate half of the parsnips that came with the (melt in the mouth) beef confit, only had 2 glasses of wine..... Halo But I succumbed to the dessert: sticky toffee pudding with marmalade ice cream and butterscotch sauce Xmas Blush In my defence, being a posh restaurant, it was a very small portionXmas Grin

I'm now back home and trying to catch up on my water allocation Xmas Wink I'd had an omelette before going out - so I've probably eaten for today. If I do feel hungry again this evening, I'll boil some eggs. Xmas Smile

....for those that know Glasgow, lunch was at Brian Maule at the Chardon d'Or Xmas Smile

Sorry to hear about your shitty day ShagMeRiggins - personally I can't stand The Apprentice, but if it makes you feel better.....Wink Enjoy your steak. Smile

StuntNun - I have no more Christmas temptations until Christmas Eve (our main dinner). And I've managed to make 3 batches of tablet (need to make one more) without even eating the soft ball test (throwing it out Shock) and not eaten a single piece myself Halo

Hi all, sorry I've been absent the last week or so. We just moved house so it's been crazy hectic. I'm sad to say both DH and I have "half" fallen off the wagon!! Too much wine being consumed each evening. Food wise we've been relatively good although we were really naughty and had pizza one night! I'm amazed but I've only put on 1/2 a lb! I'm going to try hard before Christmas to get back on the wagon but I'll be happy if I st least maintain what I've lost then I'll be properly on it in January.

I’m watching apprentice pre- show too.
I think I’m coming down with a cold, I’m freezing and my throat hurts and my body aches all over, two full on days at school ahead and then going straight to MIL’s for a few days (200 miles away) straight after.
It’s going to be really hard keeping on top of food stuff because MIL does all the cooking from scratch and I don’t want to offend her.

Good luck for the last week everyone 😊

I could have had a what looked a very nice cheese platter as my 3rd course Xmas Blush - I have no excuse Xmas Blush

But given that I have now made 3 batches of tablet (and still have two more to make Xmas Shock) without. having. a. single. piece. - I don't feel too guilty Xmas Grin

Well done pretty- I always think we should lose weight in correlation to all the delicious things we’ve turned down!

I'm only 1lb3/4 away from the goal I set myself in may bootcamp. The goal was to lose it before the end of the year so if I don't go wild at Christmas I might actually make it Wine

Hi all checking in with my first off the rails day but sort of planned.
B: cream coffee half litre water.
L: tin of tuna with mayo grated cheese and cucumber with 1.5L water

I work in a school and one of the parents is a professional baker and always makes me and all staff these lovely pick n mix boxes of different types of cakes and biscuits.
I knew it would be worth having some for the pure pleasure. I had 2 balls of almond biscotti, some pieces of white chocolate nougat and tonight at a neighbour’s house I got a baby sitter for DD and had a glass of Baileys.

I’m okay about it as each of these things are just a special treat and are the complete exception to the rule.

You sound focussed piggy Smile

As promised? Here are the pictures of the progress with the fit of my black trousers. Still a wee bit tight on the thighs but definitely getting there. Middle one was about 2 weeks ago and the 3rd one (the closer up one) was about a month ago.

16lb off for me which I am very happy with 🏆

I am now buying the next dress size down (and spending far too much money whenever I go in a shop!! Blush), and people have now started to notice which is nice also Xmas Smile

See you in January for the next one, however, I won't be stopping in between as I don't want to undo my hard work 😇

I'm desperately trying to stay on track 🙈. I seem to be in 'fuck it, it's Christmas' mode 😳. I'm not eating everything in sight or anything, but there are carbs slowly creeping in.

I'm down 2.5 stone since the end of August (11lb on this bootcamp) and down a dress size, so really chuffed. Just need to keep going! I'm about 1.5 stone from my target. At 5'11", I'm ok being a size 14 but I'd like my wobbly bits to be a lot less wobbly!

Report
prettybird · 20/12/2019 11:22

You can do this Kondo Thanks

Most of all - keep drinking the water. If your tummy is sloshing with water, then there's not so much room for carb creep. Xmas Grin

@prettybird Excellent typo considering what you were referring to! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have some kind of chest infection coldy thing which is horrible a I’m now driving 200 miles up to Cumbria to spend three days with family.

B: cream coffee and 1 litre water
L: buffet at work but kept away from all carbs and just had cheeses, meat, salads and coleslaw. Halo
Another litre of water.

I’m probably going to forgo tea because after a day of talking to my primary school class through this dagger throat I can’t really swallow without it being agony.

Hi all still here. Still weighing in at between 9 stone 11 and 9 stone 12. I've lost slightly over a stone during boot camp. I'm very pleased..
This last week I've been so busy and I'm not gonna lie the wine has been creeping up however I'm avoiding carbs still, drinking water and I'm intermittent fasting which I think will be my saving grace this Xmas. I've been so busy I haven't managed the gym at all which make me sad. I'm going to just try and enjoy Xmas now without putting too much pressure on myself and then get back to boot camp beginning of Jan. Get rid of my last stone fingers crossed.
Thank you for the thread! It's helped me loads!
