Low sugar or low carb?

I've been reading Sarah Wilson as my main problem is with sweet stuff. I'm keen on the easy to follow aspect of eating food with less than 5% sugar. This seems much less restrictive than pure low carb, as it still allows stuff like wholemeal bread. Or have I misunderstood?

Will low sugar be as effective as low carb? I can't see that it will be, as it's so much easier, but I'm hoping one of the experts among you may pop in with an opinion.

The ethos on the Low-carb BootCamp is that carbs get metabolised into sugar anyway - hence why it is Low Carb - and High Fat (hence the HFLC acronym).

We get our energy from fat (once we're keto adapted which is not the same per se as being in ketosis ) which seems counter-intuitive but works Smile

If you're interested come on to the current Boot Camp thread (Week 10). We've actually just finished but quite a few of us will be continuing this Way Of Eating until the next Boot Camp in October, so feel free to ask questions. The Rules are in the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness, which is linked to in the Opening Post. There are also loads of other resources in the spreadsheet in the various tabs.
