How many carbs a day?

Hi
I’m a vegetarian and want to low carb to lose weight. Can anyone tell me how many carbs a day would be sensible to have for a good weight loss? I’ve googled but keep finding different answers!!

My understanding is low carb is under 50g ketosis is under 20g

Getting under 20g feels nigh on impossible. I'm trying the fast 800 as 5:2 (loads of health issues so dont want to go for 800 all the time) and quite like it. Low carbing but not ridiculously low.

Unfortunately there's no simple answer to this, because everyone has a different tolerance to carbs.

In the first two weeks of Atkins induction he says it's 20g carbs per day, which can be pretty hard to achieve. But some people find that they have to keep their carbs as low as that to lose, whereas others can go up to 50 or 60g without gaining.

It's a bit of trial and error, I'm afraid! And as a veggie, your carb levels will naturally be higher than if you were basing your meals around meat or fish.
