Morning all.

Here's the Spreadsheet

The link should open on the rules rather than just the spreadsheet because I rather think some of you need a reminder!

@Dia12 - you asked about water. Do you not know how much you should be drinking? If you don't know, then that tells me that you haven't read (or remembered) the rules!

Seriously - drinking the water is really important. That's why it's one of the rules.

So we're in week 4 - remember, this one has a reputation (along with its evil twin week 3) for being a week where weight loss is limited or even unlikely. Don't despair if you don't see any loss this week. As long as you're following the rules, you will be fine.

And remember - it's not all about the scales! Take your measurements, or try on something that was too tight a month ago, and you'll get a much more realistic idea about your progress.

I'm away for the next three days, visiting my best friend, so don't really know a) what's going to happen on the food front and b) how often I'll be able to post. I should have wifi on the train, but after that - who knows! I'm travelling first class though, so looking forward to my fried breakfast this morning.

I hope you all have a very good week.

Cloverleaf1 wow! That is so great for you and thanks so much for finally delivering to post—I think a lot of those struggling with week3&4 stalls will be thrilled to hear this.

The biggest message I take away is this is a Way Of Eating. It is a life change, and a life changer.

nowlook was it you with “a whole raw radish with a knob of butter on top sprinkled with salt. I might just see if my taste buds are more refined these days!!”. Made me laugh, but also made me think yep, and it’s bloody delicious! Sea salt, by the way, none of this table shite...

ShagMeRiggins · 08/02/2019 18:05

Ah, twin. Thank you!

ShagMeRiggins · 08/02/2019 18:07

Funny, I always thought the first D was darling!

Anyway, feeling really good this week—I’ve navigated a few potential minefields and am determined to have a great weigh on Monday. Not a whoosh, but definitely a loss. Weekend buffoonery begone!

Rshard · 08/02/2019 18:23

Darling twin daughter??

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 08/02/2019 18:36

What a lovely inspiring post cloverleaf and very timely for me. Tried on a size 18 fitted skirt today in a naice shope (the size I thought I was and the biggest they do) and I couldn't get the zip done up at all by a long chalk. I stood there looking at my rolls wedged in the skirt, hanging over the top and thought GOD what is the point I've got such a long way to go, I'll never get there.
.
But I will get there won't I? I will be able to go into that shop at some point and try on that skirt (or similar) and not only have it fit but to be able to size down in it.

Thank you for your post.

ShagMeRiggins · 08/02/2019 18:52

Flowers Slinky. I’ve been in that changing room, too.

MrsKoala · 08/02/2019 19:18

I feel quite tearful reading that. Thank you for posting and well done you!

KiteMarked · 08/02/2019 19:27

Feeling quite munchy today. This usually happens when I haven't eaten quite enough for a few days in a row (busy, high volume but low density foods, etc)

What would be a good, fatty, quick meal/snack? I don't have any meat apart from frozen chicken legs and pepperoni slices. Plenty of cheese, eggs, veg.

nowlook · 08/02/2019 19:29

I'm off out for a birthday meal tomorrow. Just had a look and the menu looks ace for me! Pulled hoglet here I come!

nowlook · 08/02/2019 19:32

@KiteMarked

Have you any pate to slather on cheese? Stuffed mushrooms? Trying not to say cheese omelette Grin

BIWI · 08/02/2019 19:35

Do you have any yoghurt? One of my favourite supper dishes (or quick lunch dishes) is two (or three, if you're really hungry!) hard boiled eggs. Shell and then halve them, lay them yolk side down in an oven dish (an individual tapas dish is perfect!), spoon some full fat natural yoghurt over the top, then a generous handful or two of grated mature cheddar. Season with black pepper, and then cook under the grill until the cheese is melted and nicely browned.

I know, as soon as I was listing those ingredients, it popped out at me! Omelet, durr.

BIWI
I'll have to try that, but I can't quite imagine how it all gels together - doesn't the yogurt go runny?

nowlook · 08/02/2019 19:43

I'm going to give this a go next week with shallots instead of onions. Might be a decent emergency tea @KiteMarked

Silly me, forgot link

KiteMarked · 08/02/2019 19:46

Oooh, looks like a goer.

I'll try that soon; cheesy omelet has won the day (night).

Doilooklikeatourist · 08/02/2019 19:49

@KiteMarked , I like poached eggs with mashed avocado ( on toast in the old days ) some buttered green veg underneath would be lovely
Or a nice cheesey omlette with coleslaw , if you have some crunchy veg to chop with mayo

Doilooklikeatourist · 08/02/2019 19:53

X post !
Quite a good day , I think
B Greek yoghurt with a few berries
L cheese omlette with HM coleslaw 😀
D salmon fillet , with spicy sauce ( caraway seeds , harissa paste and a home made tomato sauce ) a spoonful of tahini ( unsure if tahini is a good idea or not ? ) buttered spinach
1/4 bottle of Chardonnay
Loads of tap water , and some slimline tonic now , early to bed as I’m shattered ( and I’ve changed the sheets , can’t wait ! )

Destinysdaughter · 08/02/2019 20:12

Hi can I belatedly rejoin please? I did BC last January and lost over 2 stone but my weight is creeping back again so decided last Weds I needed to do something about it before it got out of control.

I prepared myself by eating up all the ready carbs in my kitchen and stocking up on low carb goodies. I tend to put weight on on my tummy ( apple shape) so it’s really noticeable when I do put weight on. I’m currently 10 stone 5 ( was 11 stone 12 when I started BC last year so have kept a lot off but carb creep is starting to show...)

Looking forward to hearing more about your success stories and also sharing tips that work for me.

First one is, I recently got a trial box for £3 from Simply Cook. You choose the recipes you want and they send you the spice mix for them. I chose Katsu curry, Massaman curry, Chicken korma and prawn Thai curry. You just add the meat and veggies. If you have them with cauliflower rice ( I use the frozen ones from Iceland), they’re pretty LC compatible. And bloody delicious ( and v quick to make. ) 😀

Destinysdaughter · 08/02/2019 20:25

@Cloverleaf1 wow what an inspiring post! Good for you for sticking to the diet and all your exercise. When I read posts like yours it makes me feel so evangelical about this WOE as it really DOES WORK! Actually it pisses me off when I see such bad nutritional advice given that is still very much the norm. However, I first did this ( when it was the Atkins diet) in 2001 and there was so much hostility towards it, things have definitely changed since then. 😀

WhatTheFronti · 08/02/2019 21:08

@Cloverleaf1 thanks for sharing. Very inspiring.

I've started to find most of my summer dresses (am Southern Hemisphere dweller) are getting rather loose - a good problem to have. DH even commented on how a newer one looks a little sack like now! Fingers crossed next spring I'll have to buy some new smaller sized ones to see me through the hot months... excited!!!

I'm looking forward to the seasons shifting and some delicious LCHF soups and stews - bit over salad!!

Notlostjustexploring · 08/02/2019 21:29

Keep the success stories coming! Anything from the entire journey to the little successes helps keep me on the straight and narrow. And I need all the help I can get!!

My little success over temptation came a couple of days ago when I sliced up some uneaten Christmas cake to serve, and I make very good Christmas cake, and didn't even have a slice, nor like the knife. I'm going have to cut a slice and freeze it so I can have it at the end of bootcamp.

Random snack idea, a variation on the exploded babybel. I've just sliced a couple of babybels in half, put a jalepeno slice in the middle of each disc and ping as usual. I do have odd taste buds, but I found it delicious!!

I'm now wondering if doing it with some lime pickle would make me not miss poppadoms....

1stMrsF · 08/02/2019 21:30

@Cloverleaf1 thank you. I do so find success stories very inspiring and I'm starting to think that I could even be one, which is a new thought...

@nowlook thanks for the Girl Called Jack recipe, it sounds very like a fish I used to cook years ago when i lived on my own - I think I'll give it a go.

@Destinysdaughter I am also a fan of Simply Cook. Sadly I have too many leftover carbs meals right now but there are some really good ones - recommend Saag Paneer, Moqueca de Peixe and Chicken Makhane.

I cooked the pesto thing - it was really good, I'll go and post on the chicken recipes thread in a minute.

Managed to have some LC treats this evening to celebrate Friday and overcome a loooong week (ending in gridlocked commute ). Little G&T with some cured meat, cheese and cornichons. Tried the Fever Tree 'refreshing light' tonic, which has only fructose no sweeteners or sugar. It was really good. Carb count of a vegetable and better still it doesn't really taste sweet. I'm glad I tried it as I'd previously tried the Mediterranean one and not liked it.

Have a great weekend and KOKO!
